I wouldn’t go as far as saying you are wasting your time with a cheap one. It’s is still very possible to get great results with an economic model. I did it for years.

Business Advice About Joining Mechanic Shop With My Detailing Shop Question

I strongly agree to stay away from percentage. It’s best to pay for your own space or at least sublet space from him at a minimum. TRUST ME! Even if you gave him 30% (as an example). Do $3000 of work and that’s already $900. I ceased the idea LITERALLY last night to team up with a PPF guy with...

BMW “Frozen Paint”: Anyone with experience with this type of paint?

So there is a guy that I know like 5 mins from me. But send His information over anyway. Ps: The customer already bought the car pictured. I was about to recommend matte PPF. Oh well. It will be good to have some extra contacts available. Sent from my iPhone using Autogeekonline mobile app

Do Coatings Provide MORE Gloss than Sealants or Waxes?

At the end of the day, I still prefer the looks of a premium carnauba wax.

    Steamers...

Well, I am looking to buy a new one by April. I had a fantastic conversation with Chief Steamer and was highly impressed with how the owner handled the conversation. It helped built a lot of trust into his machine without making a cheesy sales pitch. Customer service is top notch and is very...

BMW “Frozen Paint”: Anyone with experience with this type of paint?

A long time client of mine is looking to get this car pictured here. Does anyone have a clue of where to begin? I heard to ONLY use BMW specific car care products. I also read not to use microfiber towels. Do not touch with regular soap. Do not buff it. Do not coat it. Do not wax it. What’s...

    non-professional comparison Rupes V Griot's G15

It’s been so long since I had LHR21 set up with a 5” backing plate, but the LHR15 MKII as well as the latest MKIII are smoother than the 21mm w/ 5” BP I feel. In terms of stalling, they both are similar— possibly giving the edge to the 15mm due to a 5” BP being standard working in junction with...

    non-professional comparison Rupes V Griot's G15

They both are similar if not identical in terms of power and stalling. You are practically investing in more rubber and a longer cord.

    Bulk Cleaners

I currently use Optimum Power Clean. But quite honestly, I am thinking about going back to Meguiar’s D101 because it performs very well for the price. They both perform great. But I give the edge to Meguiar’s just based on the fact that their bottles make it way easier to figure out dilutions.

Cell phone only. I haven’t found a need for other options.

    what do you charge?

In most cases, yes. As a matter of fact, I use Optimum Car Wax as a clay lube/wax applicator with an Optimum Clay Mitt.

    what do you charge?

I use Optimum Car Wax with mine because if I used a more durable wax or sealant and say, “Come back in 6 months.” They come back in 12 months anyway. It keeps cost down. It’s still is a great product. And I make $100/hr on average doing this service. On the other hand, I have a lot of clients...

    Pricing

To clarify, a coating will require a minimum of a one step polish with a traditional polish or a primer polish such as CARPRO Essence. The MINIMUM prep work is included in the price + the cost of material. With that said, a starting price of $399 for a (3 year) coating is obviously just a...

Postcard Design: What do you think?

Thanks for the feedback. The selection of the picture doesn’t bother me personally. My plan was to send out hand-written “Thank you!” cards to existing clients. And since my business is small enough, my wife and I are going to do our own version of EDDM/Send Jim. Except more on a selective...

Do you use face mask doing detailing?

I started using one about 3 months ago. Since then, I would say I use one about 85% of the time.

    Help! Cleaning Fabric Seats

The P&S TRIO is FANTASTIC! I am a firm believer in using the full system on heavy soiling & stains I recently used it on a soda stain in the carpet and it all came up no problem. Also, it worked magnificently on upholstery as well removing smoke odors.
