    anyone play with cad programs?

I used to dabble a bit with AutoCAD and Mechanical Desktop back in the day.... but it's been a few years. If I remember right the last project I did for a class was a 3D model of a film SLR camera....

    Sad Day in Pat's World

 Jerk. Oh well, at least it's just raining here right now, instead of snowing. Even still it's just 37* outside.

Yet again... ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT ENGINE DETAILING AAHHH!!

OPC is exactly what I use; usually I'll dilute it 1:1 (2:1 if the engine is really clean) and shoot that through it. :props:

Yet again... ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT ENGINE DETAILING AAHHH!!

If you have an air compressor, even just a half-decent one, consider picking up a siphon-feed engine cleaning gun. Those things are absolute LIFE SAVERS. $6 at Harbor Freight.

    Iron X and chrome trim?

That's because the original formulation of the product wasn't good on chrome. The product has been reformulated but AG hasn't updated the copy in the store.

    Meguiars Pad Washer

That's because it IS identical.... the Meg's Pad Washer is just the Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer with different stickers on it. :props:

Car repainted and turned matte overtime

Sounds like die-back.... which since you said the basecoat was waterborne, likely means it hadn't fully cured prior to application of the clear (the painter was in a hurry and/or was inexperienced with waterborne and didn't know any better). I would do as Mike suggests and try to see how it...

2004 Cadillac XLR Paint Correction - Picture Heavy

Well, for all intents and purposes it's just a C6 Corvette, probably wouldn't be too hard to drop an LSX 454 in it....

Poor customer service from Autogeek - won't refund money

Well, that's mistake #1.... just from a security standpoint it is unwise to ever use a debit card online.

cleaning on the fly with grit guard pad washer

Interesting.... I'll have to take a closer look at those the next time I'm in Costco. The ones I buy from Sam's Club work, but they're really junk towels; they lint like crazy!

cleaning on the fly with grit guard pad washer

You can put it back into use immediately, just blotting the pad dry with a towel is usually good enough. Yes. I would just use a towel to clean it after each section pass, and hit the pad washer after each full panel has been completed. Ultimately the key is to not over-think it. You'll...

    What did Santa bring you??

Nice! I was in Grand Rapids today and my uncle was complaining that he put his C5 in storage just before Thanksgiving.... yet we both have been seeing other 'vettes still driving around. I saw a C6Z on the highway on the way over there in fact.

    What did Santa bring you??

That being the case, and the fact he's in Michigan, all I can say is THANK YOU for driving the snow away!
