Like disolves like. Try to use some solution finish to wipe it down and then immediatelly buff off. My guess is that all the excess product will come off.

The best way to clean glass is to use the finest steel wool (#0000). You can polish as well. There is a video by Chris Fix that shows the process and works really well.
