Time for new stuff - advice please!

The pads durability depends on a lot of factors but the one factor you can control is the speed you use on the polisher. I used to put the polishers on max speed and my pads would die really quickly. Now I use speed 4 or 4.5 out of 6 and they last much longer. Usually for me it's the velcro...

Time for new stuff - advice please!

The Torq machines are really good. I love mine and use it a lot in a profesionnal setting. Most product will yield good results if you use them correctly. CG have some great products and also some products that really under perform the competition. It's not all bad. If you want to go with a...

    Gas prices

Oh and by the way, gas is 2.25$ per liter in Montreal right now... that's 8.55$ per gallon. And we are the world's 3rd largest petrol reserve in the world. Not good!

This economic crisis has been in the making since 2000. When the economy crashed in 2008, they made the problem 10 times worse by not allowing those who did wrong to get punished by the market. Instead the money printing machine went into overdrive and created the biggest bubble of all times...

How much do you charge for a one-step exterior detail?

Regarding the original question. I have 4 polishing packages. My All-in-one package is a paint enhancement package that includes: Detailed wash of the vehicle Deep cleaning of the wheels Chemical paint decontamination (Road film, fallout, sap, bugs, water spots) 1 step polishing with Meguiars...

How much do you charge for a one-step exterior detail?

Ok... I have to ask... what is wrong with regular windshield washer fluid? And... what is so nice about what you are using? Usually during the summer I just put some water with ONR in the washer fluid reservoir and during winter time obviously I use the -40 celcius fluid for our cold winters...

    Client expectations on paint correction?

Ok so... polishing and scratches.... The job of the compound is to remove minor scratches and swirls. If you have scratches that are visible to the eye from a distance, you need to wet sand them off. I always have that discussion with my clients because most people believe the compound...

    Too Many Coatings Choices

Ya I just received my bottle and noticed that warning... very odd. Well, I hope the product is as good as Cquartz UK 3.0, I decided to give this one a try without seeing an independant test of it first.

Your go to compound for one step and 2 step?

Depends on the condition of the paint. If it's in good shape already, I really like Meguiars M205 on an orange pad. If the paint is in bad shape, Menzerna 2500 on a blue cutting pad or even on a wool pad for DA would be my choice. Both products do a good job and are easy to wipe off. I...

    Clear Bar, glue removal

Rapid Remover is the way to go. It's designed to disolve glue and it works really well. If the glue is really thick, you might have to use a plastic razor blade to remove it from the paint, it happened to me once. Otherwise, disposable micro fiber towels, might take a few wipes to get all...

What dilution do you use Break Buster at? Pure it might be just as good as 303. I looked at 303 and it's 4 times the price of break buster... that is kinda crazy LOL

    Removing super glue from paint?

Hum... I wonder if glue removers like Rapid Remover or Goo Gone would work on superglue... if so, it would be safer than acetone in this case because it looks like it's a plastic part and acetone will melt plastic. If it's only on paint and my eye is deceiving me, then acetone is fine.

    Tire coating

2 months is really not a long time for a coating. You are getting in great dressing territory. Maybe you should try McKee's next time you order. I know that for me, it was a great improvement over Optimum's.

    Tire coating

Did you have bad experiences with Break Buster? I have not used it in a while because Meg's non-acid wheel cleaner is usually cheaper but my experience with BB has been awesome. I dilute it 3:1 and it pulls the browning from the tires like crazy. I have tried APCs, my default product is...

Product recommendations for decon/wash prior to full correction

For decon: CarPro Iron-X and Meguiars wheel and paint decon are the best products I have used. Optimum Ferrex the worst by a long margin. I suggest you also do a tar decon, there is almost always some of it on the lower part of the vehicule. All the tar removers I have tried worked well so...

    Leaf blower followed by detailer

I used to blow dry the cars I was working on but I was so out of breath afterwards... so I stopped ;) Now a days it's spray wax with damp towel followed by dry towel. If you want to take the time to blow dry first, go for it, it can't hurt.
