Turtle Wax Hybrid Spray Coating - Are the reviews misleading?

SiC is Silica Carbide. It's basically what's used in the Optimum line of coatings. SiC is formed as part of the bonding process to the paint, not really SiO2 which is just in the product itself to be applied, that relies on the resin on. What's it's relation to siloxane? Siloxane is just a form...

Turtle Wax Hybrid Spray Coating - Are the reviews misleading?

Pretty much. Biggest difference between "spray coatings" and "true coatings" is actually the liquid bonding agent and carrier solvent. The bonding agent and carrier solvent needs to be strong enough to hold whatever protection agent they use soluble such as SiO2, SiC, PDMS, whatever, all mixed...

Top Turtle Wax Ice Spray Wax with Turtle Wax Seal & Shine

You can top one with the other, it won't really make a difference either way to be honest. Spray Wax is carnauba and PDMS mixed together, seal & shine is PDMS only. They also use similar solvents so basically.. it depends on what's already on the paint. Carnauba might look better on top though...

Turtle Wax Hybrid Spray Coating - Are the reviews misleading?

In terms of compounding and not needing to compound, a chemical break down of the item in comparison might give some hints and be revealing. Turtle Wax Hybrid Spray Coating uses IPA as the only solvent in the product. By comparison, Reload has two different kinds of siloxane, naptha, methanol...

Car Interior Mold and Mildew Mitigation

Hey Mike, I've seen this from when people sneeze onto the windshield and this develops. I don't know if it's mold or old bacteria.

    Ceramic Coating Product recommendations

I would love to see those coatings in an actual glass bottle that you can just pour onto a suede block instead.

Getting a brand new car ; what should I use to protect it ??

+1 for Optiseal. To be honest, it does protect quite well but it does not give the same kind of "pop" that a lot of other ones will. I find a lot of Optimum products are like that, it's not the showiest of products but they do work quite well. But another big plus for Optiseal, if you use it...

When is it acceptable to use a quick detailer?

For quick detail spray, they do make adjustments in the formula for things like silicone or things like it that form something that reflects light. Kind of like red paint will be shiney but red paint with gold flecks will give an extra pop.

Let’s learn about vinyl wrap and protecting it.

If it's gloss vinyl, treat it like paint pretty much. Just be gentle with it, most finishing polishes should correct just fine.

When is it acceptable to use a quick detailer?

Well the half ounce would be 1 to 32. Quick detailer and waterless wash are the same in method of execution but different in the wash solution. Honestly if you're using distilled water, 1 to 32 wont cause you any issues. I wouldnt really call anything to do with onr a quick detailer, it doesnt...

1973 Lotus Europa oxidized original paint

Makes me wonder, almost makes perfect sense that wood furniture wax worked so well. Who would've thought lol

When is it acceptable to use a quick detailer?

Dont need to fit a bucket. Just have two 16 ounce bottles of ONR diluted for waterless wash. Basically half an ounce per bottle or so. You'll be good to go. Quick retailers have glossing agents in them that's why they give a pop.

Still have some questions on Geyon Product Comparisons

Echoing what others have said, 30ml of liquid coating is enough for two cots around any personal vehicle. Maybe application process or something here.

1973 Lotus Europa oxidized original paint

Oddly enough Mike, if the paint code for his car starts with an L, it is indeed the old style nitrocellulose paint. Depends on his paint code. Lotus used it for his year for whatever reason.

When is it acceptable to use a quick detailer?

ONR dilute it to waterless wash ratios and use that. People ruin their finishes at car shows with detailing spray what is essentially a wash worth of dust.

1973 Lotus Europa oxidized original paint

SC John Paste Wax is actually a mix of carnauba, paraffin wax, as well as microcrystalline wax which is a wax byproduct of distilling petroleum based products. The "cleaning agent" in it is mineral spirits. It also contains 1,2,4-trimethybenzene which long story short, is a light reflecting...

    Ceramic Coating Product recommendations

I like cancoat but I really don't like the spray method for coating containers. Maybe it's just me and I'm too used to the suede cloth and block and then dribbling product on?

He's such a beautiful dog Justin. She likes to pose for the camera. Both my dogs having a nap together. We got the white Sheppard and the other is a bijon mix of some kind. Sad story, she was the runt of the litter and was born with not great eye sight. At the time if my wife hadn't taken...
