Still have some questions on Geyon Product Comparisons

It always depends on the product. You gotta remember a lot of the hydrophobic layer coatings are not really SiO2 coatings. Usually they're a different Silicone based coating focused on hydrophobic properties and slickness more than anything else.

Your thoughts on 15,000 mile oil changes..

It's not one dealer, it's a lot of the dealerships here, period. I got everything from Toyota, Mazda, Lexus, Subaru, and Ford. They're all combined experiences.

    Show us your pet.

I've noticed that too. The Bijon whos a lot older will egg the younger Sheppard on. When the sheppard was still a puppy, the bijon would convince the puppy to jump on the table to knock over the loaf of bread. Then the puppy would cry cause she knew how to get up but not how to get down while...

Your thoughts on 15,000 mile oil changes..

To be honest, I have no time for car dealerships. I've found in the past dealing with them to not waste my time arguing back and forth, and just have my lawyer write out my request. Saves me time on the long run. I'm not normally this aggressive but for dealerships, I got nothing but aggression...

DG AquaWax as drying aid for ceramic coating

To be fair when I say it accumulates less road film, this is after using carpro trix on the coating vs trix on a sealant or wax. Most sealants and waxes would be removed by the fallout remover but a good coating isn't.

Your thoughts on 15,000 mile oil changes..

Eh I go to the dealership for my oil changes. Mazda charges me 80 dollars after tax for synthetic oil change with the high moly 0W20 they use with the mazda skyactiv engines. I casually threaten a lawsuit over them washing my car and then go sit in one of the new SUVs and browse this forum while...

I find the newer Mazda paint super easy to work with, and super forgiving. Not too hard, not too soft.

Help Me Choose a Location to Mount My Autogeek Banner!

Don't worry, still better than going to applebees on Nov 11 and seeing what you can get away with while wearing the most moto boot outfit you can find hahaha I'm all for Number 1. That way when you open the garage, you'll know where half your profits will be going to next month :D

If I can make a suggestion, depending on how oxidized the paint is, maybe go with a microfiber cutting pad of some sort just so you can remove as much of the oxidized paint as possible? Foam pad might get absolutely filled with oxidized paint and scour the surface mercilessly.

    Biggest Pet-Peeves in Detailing?

I always leave the rubber mats in the car. I don't think I've ever put the summer carpet mats in the car. Too lazy to clean them thoroughly all the time. Pet peeve: I don't know why because I like Nick Rutter but his videos recently have been so awkward when he demonstrates new products. Like...

No, you misunderstood what I mean about permanency. It's not that it can't be removed. You can polish the layer off. What I mean by some coatings becoming permanent is because there is no coating layer sitting on top of the clearcoat. It's that the clearcoat's outter most layer becomes a mixture...

Still have some questions on Geyon Product Comparisons

A thicker layer of coating is meaningless to 99 percent of the population. What is truly the point of a thicker layer of coating? It comes down to coating density. I'm gonna use CQuartz UK as an example. It has multiple siloxane forms in the blend, and they chain together in the resin itself...

DP spray coating vs Wolfgang vs PBL

Every LSP is basically the same. Protection element, solvent, bonding agent. Different forms, and chemicals, but the same idea behind them.

I get a kick out of the toothpaste. Dr. Beasleys whole thing is a prescription for your car. Tooth paste... abrasives... polish.. I unno I think it's funny.

    Clay bar

Also if you polish without claying, if your paint levelling process removes the contaminants, then you're basically scouring them over your paint as you polish. Considering what a lot of bonded contaminants actually are like embedded brake dust, industrial fall out, hardened sap, or rubber/tar...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Headlight polishing is so tedious. It's so much easier to protect them properly in the first place but ya know, that's a whole other conversation lol
