Help me choose a new compound (What's your fav compound)

Have always had good luck with any of the Sonax correcting products, so it’s hard to go wrong there… …but Griots Fast Correcting Cream is always my “go to” when I’m not getting the correction I need, yet don’t want to be too aggressive. Perhaps if I acquired and taught myself how to use a...

You are no longer a poser when…

[emoji1787]. Believe it or not, the same owner also has a Ram TRX (and a McLaren, Porsche, Aston Martin)… which will be the next project, after a Range Rover and a Ram Power Wagon from different owners in my little town. I’m starting to gain a reputation with the Ram guys almost like what...

You are no longer a poser when…

Total time was 20-22 hours. I’m not as fast as I should be, but I don’t do production detailing to make a living so I just tell prospects that if you want it fast I’m not your guy.

You are no longer a poser when…

…you polish and coat a Ram 3500 dually [emoji3]! Polished w/ NSP 95 on Uro-fiber pads using Flex 3401. Coated w/Artdeshine Nano Graphene Coating. 2022 Ram 3500 w/Turbo Cummins Diesel. What a beast! Thanks for looking.

Am I wrong in NOT wanting to use a drying aid?

Are drying aids necessary? No. Can they add lubrication and maybe a little extra gloss/protection? Yes. Rags to Riches really does a great job of cleaning towels, and will do wonders in refreshing the pores of your microfibers if they are clogged from using toppers/sealants, etc.

    Enhancing Black Paint

Consider adding a chemical decontamination step (i.e. iron remover) as you begin your detail. If the truck has been outdoors since 2014 it will likely need it. This along with claying it will go a long way toward improving your polishing/sealing results. It will also mean less wear & tear...

Can you top McKee's ceramic 360 with a coating or ceramic spray?

There’s no reason you couldn’t top up the 360 with any spray product that is designed to be a coating topper. I would not try to put a “true” coating on top as you will likely have bonding issues and won’t gain the additional coating benefits you are looking for. The only ceramic AIO product...

Tire coating prep for new tires

In theory washing with your car wash soap is all you need to do. I pretty much stick to rinseless washes (i.e. no hose), so a quick wipe of my coated tires with an SiO2 waterless wash product (I like TAC Aqua or Xtreme Solutions Jersey Devil) cleans off the majority of the road grime and...

    ONR vs N-914

While I’ve also moved on from ONR (prefer N914/Feynlab/M37SiO2), I still like it around the house like some of you. I keep a 5 gallon bucket (w/gamma seal lid) filled with ONR and a dozen Griots microfiber utility towels in my laundry room. They work great for keeping shoes clean. A quick...
