    McKee's 360

I didn't find the wipe off on 360 completely effortless, though probably my own fault because I grabbed lunch before I came back and wiped it off. Though IIRC you can leave HD speed and Blackfire One-Step to sit pretty much indefinitely and still wipe off, is that true? Also has anyone tried...

    McKee's 360

I'm often times paid in beer :D Something I forgot to mention if you're going for "Maximum Efficiency" is that the pads were a bear to clean, like trying to clean out 10 heavy sealant pads. Kind of reminded me of when I would do a rinseless wash in 30 minutes but spend an hour inspecting and...

    McKee's 360

I wouldn't say I'm *that* disappointed. It just might good idea to do *something* to the paint after the first wash if the car is a daily. Going forward if I need any sort of longevity from that first application I'll do a dedicated polish then LSP. My reason for choosing an AIO was mostly about...

    McKee's 360

360 was applied 4/18 and washed 5/16 with Adams blue. Vehicle is a dd in the midwest, garaged at night, and driven in rain and shine. The pics are post wash taken immediately after rinse. I want to note that most of the water continued to sheet off in the few seconds after I took the pics...

Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?

Also just because a product has a chemical doesn't mean it's doing the "work". Peek the thread from the new 3D coating that has SiO2 but isn't a "SiO2 coating"...

Is Graphene the next big thing for coatings?

Nah just slightly less hydrophobic. It sounds like semantics but the difference is important imo. A with a hydrophilic product water would stick, like when you hand wash your glassware. Ideally the product would also also be oleophobic and repel oils. A product like this would be visually boring...

    McKee's 360

This is savage! Where's the 6 months I swear I read somewhere!

    McKee's 360

Boy do I agree with you here. I think water beading is a good indicator that "something" is left on your paint but what's the point if bugs, birds, and water spots still etch the paint? I expect much more from my LSP's than water beading alone.

    McKee's 360

I'll join in. This is a great thread. 360 was applied almost a month ago production buff style. The vehicle has never been coated, just various sealants so I'm not too worried about 360's abrasives removing them. I'll probably see the vehicle again in a week or two and I'll try to remember to...

    Wax over Ceramic Coating?

I'll opine that a "Last Step Product" should be just that ;)

The case against multi-year ceramic paint coatings - Road Grime = Surface Staining Daily Drivers by Mike Phillips

Bump I wish I would have taken some pictures. The daily driver I did had not been polished in two years. It was NOT neglected, well protected, and washed fairly regularly. However it was driven through all four seasons in the midwest and I still pulled out road grime from the lower panels. Not...

    McKee's 360

Thanks for doing this test! I hope you get a little more longevity from it this time. Props to you doing the extra step with the prep polish. Probably overkill for the mk360 but it puts the sealant on a level playing field. The vehicle I did had not been polished in 2 years. I used mk360 on...

    McKee's 360

I just tried it on a vehicle for the first time two weeks ago, bought it because of it's reputation for durability. We'll see how it goes. I was hoping to let it ride for a couple of months then follow up with hi-def. Really trying to keep things simple this year.

Wolfgang Uber All In One - anyone use it?

I was just thinking Wolfgang should update their AIO with their ceramic sealant tech if it's possible. I'd trade a little tacky wipe off if it means increased durability. There's a hole left where Mckee's 360 was IMO. I still need to try One Step! I know we're in the age of coatings and SiO2...

Constant battle against tar spots on doors.. sealants not working. any tips?

Oops, I was more thinking about wiping with a dry microfiber rather than a shampoo-soaked wash mitt. That would avoid potentially gunking up your wash mitt too. Let us know if anything lands up working.

Constant battle against tar spots on doors.. sealants not working. any tips?

Agreed. Go to 14:45 and watch how this guy does it: YouTube Think he uses Gyeon Tar which is sold here.

1 year coating for Midwest winter salt?

Don't mean to be unhelpful but why worry about it lasting perfectly through the winter? I'm also in the midwest so I get your concern, there's some weird gunk that can accumulate throughout the year. Just today I did a decon, wash, clay, and quick AIO and had zero problems at all. If you're...

1976 Corvette Original Single Stage Paint - Paint Correction and Waxing

Mike do you do this with most of your AIO's or is this unique to One Step?

I wouldn't use a prep polish if I used an abrasive polish first.

Review: 3D Paint Coating and 3D One Cutting Compound and Finishing Polish

Thanks Mike, we're on the same page. I edited my post to avoid confusion. I know how careful you are with word selection in your articles. What I'm referring to is water rolling off the paint. I used to work in the fabric industry and for water repellency there's two distinct tests for how tall...
