    Pick 1 - Wax - Sealant - Coating

Sealant, mostly because I like using AIO/cleaner waxes. When I do a vehicle I can hit it with an AIO, take 5 minutes to add a little extra spray sealant to the mirrors and front clip, and it'll be fine for a few months. Whenever I see it again I just add more sealant. Most of the time this is...

What I want to see in 2019

Good suggestions, thanks. I like the idea of doing an iron remover test spot. I could do a prep-all wipe down before reapplying but honestly this is something I'd most likely skip. Already have a good degreaser in the arsenal and I'll probably add a new prewash next year. Claying I only do...

What I want to see in 2019

I'm skeptical about Si02 percentages. I honestly don't care if it has Si02 at all. I really just want the best protection against bugs, water spots, bird bombs and grime in a "set it and forget it" format. I've just been warming up to the spray & wipe application recently since time has become a...

    Traffic film remover question

I don't think prewash foams are all that different from APC's. I just think thoughtfully designed prewashes will have better dwell so they don't have to be mixed as strong. Alkaline will clean better than pH neutral in general. Just stay away from caustic (hydroxides) those can mess up your trim...

What I want to see in 2019

That's exactly what I'm looking for. More than happy to apply a spray & wipe 2, 3 in a year as long as I don't have to re-prep the paint. I just need something a little more "robust" then what I'm seeing from other Si02 sprays and old school WOWA's. Thank You!

How much dirt can build up in the winter months here in Sweden!

Thanks for the pics, that tar is ridiculous. I think 3D has a presoak product sold here too that dilutes 1300:1. I've been meaning to try it.

What I want to see in 2019

That's interesting, instead of AIO primer + coating, just do AIO primer + Si02 spray. I bet that gallon would last years. Now you have nearly unlimited combinations with all the wowa/toppers out there. Cancoat is going on my list to try in '19. No problems topping it up without a polish? I...

What I want to see in 2019

I don't own that car anymore but it was black Subie paint too, I died on the inside. It's the Uber mentality, not many people own a car and if they do it's a beater. Not to derail my own thread...

What I want to see in 2019

Yeah pretty much, or CanCoat-type products like Budget mentioned. Never said I was being original, I'd just like to see more affordable one-year products released. And products like Essence. I'd also take fk1000p made into a WOWA. Now THAT would be something.

What I want to see in 2019

I'm talking the enthusiast market. Most consumer coatings are in the $60 - $120 ish range, but they tout 2-3 year durability. I'm suggesting I'd pay a little more than most sealants for a solid year of durability but not the premium for a multi-year coating. One year through four seasons is the...

What I want to see in 2019

Sure, why not, it's a coating. Even if it's starting to degrade the idea is to make the spring cleanup easy for a light polish and a new layer. Done for another year.

What I want to see in 2019

That's exactly what I'm saying :) McKee's is close at $45 retail. To clarify this is assuming you only get one use out of the coating bottle. If the bottle lasts multiple uses after you open it that obviously changes things. Personally I think there's more room in the market between inexpensive...

What I want to see in 2019

-More "ceramic" AIO's with jeweling ability and durable fillers that are easy to use. Similar to Carpro Essence. -More "coating lite" products with durability about a year (including winter). I think a lot of the products on the market now would fit the bill if you just knocked down the price...

Looking for the longest lasting sealant. Not necessarily the best look

Whats the number one thing(s) you guys look for in protection? I feel good water beading is pretty easy to find (lots of spray & wipe products will knock water beading out of the park) but protection against etching and release from water spots, bird bombs, and bugs is harder to come across.

    Mother's CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING

I agree. I think many of the current coatings are too expensive for a yearly refresh, especially since the bottle gels up once you crack it open. I think you guys can hit the right price point. I'd love to see more spray and wipe products with legit durability and protection against bugs, water...

Entry level combo that's made me a ton of $$$

Man I hope so. This falls in line with what you've posted about doing *something* to the paint annually or twice a year. I'll occasionally see a friend's car that gets lightly polished with an AIO every spring. I don't know which AIO exactly but I'm sure it's something decent. Wash, clay, and...

Review: GYEON Q2 ONE Enthusiast Ceramic Coating by Mike Phillips

I like your thinking with the light spring polish. The only other factor I'd consider is cost. I personally wouldn't spend $70 on a product that I'm only going to keep on the car for a year. May not be a deciding factor for you but just throwing it out there. I'm thinking it might be a bit...

    Contaminants on ceramic coating

This is a great post, thanks Mike. That was the Camaro right? Just think of all the opportunities those of us with daily drivers in big cities with four seasons have to pick up contamination. Like your way of thinking.

    Contaminants on ceramic coating

I don't buy that sealants and waxes "flake off" as they wear taking contaminates with them. To the OP, can you give us an idea what your car is subject to? Meaning does it sit outside all day, are you next to construction, etc? This doesn't need to be complicated and I'm sure we can give you...
