    Mother's CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING

I think core inflation is up a little over 2% in the US? I hope Mothers sets the benchmark for a retail coating. Kudos to you guys. I definitely hear the term "coating" in more and more people's lingo. I just hope the market doesn't dilute the term too much. Which is why we need a good product...

    Mother's CMX CERAMIC SPRAY COATING

Thanks for the insight. Does this include liquid paste sealants too? I never thought there was firm delineation for what defines a coating anyways. We have detail sprays on the market now basically calling themselves coatings. Can this product be reapplied on top of itself? Meaning can you...

Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

Sounds like a pain! I always thought the chemicals in touchless tunnels were mixed fairly strong to begin with but maybe you're dealing with a different animal. Without using a pressure washer of any sort I would presoak the slower panels with degreaser and let dwell, then follow with your ONR...

Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

Agree with this here. I wouldn't go mixing rinseless with degreaser. Is your touchless wash a tunnel wash or self-serve bay with a wand?

advancement in sealants and wax's for water spotting

Hydrophilic but oleophobic. You could still have your beading, it'd just have to be with little drops of vegetable oil lol. This would be a true 'easy to clean' lsp.

Sio2 interior Protestant for vinyl and plastic

We're on the same page here. All I'm suggesting for the OP is he focus on the results and not the ceramic or Si02 buzzwords. For shiny, scratch sensitive piano black or wood trim I could see the usefulness extra slickness could provide. But I'm not going to waste my blackfire Si02 on my...

Sio2 interior Protestant for vinyl and plastic

In the context of interior products I'd question if the Si02 would make any difference. I don't think you'll see 9H hardness on a product for vinyl.

Sio2 interior Protestant for vinyl and plastic

I think you need to ask what you actually want from your protection. Si02 products seem great at beading water. Do you need your interior to bead water?

    SEMA 2018... 2019 Products

I have LOTS of questions about 3D's super wheel cleaner, APC, & degreaser but I think i'll save them for another thread. There must be some clever chemistry going on there (hint peek the sds) btw big respect for companies like Meguiar's & 3D that make sds sheets freely available online :xyxthumbs:

Getting good results using SuperClean on tires...

No I meant the OP, confusing with the quote sorry!

Getting good results using SuperClean on tires...

See I find that kind of disappointing for a coating. I know you shouldn't need strong chems when using a coating but I find it kinda weak that I could strip one with a cleaner I can casually buy at a retail store.

Getting good results using SuperClean on tires...

Yeah looks potentially caustic from a quick google search. Need to take care with stuff from big box stores. OP I'm guessing your rims are clear coated since you're already using wheel brightener but I'd be concerned about it dripping on a rim that wasn't.

Is Traffic Film a reason to not top off Sealant after a wash?

Good topic. Just for the sake of discussion, lets say you're using a great WOWO sealant like Powerlock that should last 4-6 months. At the start of the year you do the full detail above and apply the sealant. After 5 months you want to add more Powerlock, what do you do?

    Sealant comparison

That's really disappointing on the AIO's, I would have expected better. And it's hard to argue there's a surfactant film because the adjacent panels look fine.

Is Traffic Film a reason to not top off Sealant after a wash?

Is this coming from the purple degreaser guy? Constant use of a caustic degreaser is overkill for someone who doesn't neglect their vehicle. If you own some ONR I'm sure you maintain your vehicle just fine. I have no issue with using an appropriate APC or prewash to help break up grime during a...

Claying one day and polish wax a week later

No, rinse off the dirt & suds from your wash first. But then you can use the remaining shampoo in your wash bucket as lubricant for your clay if you don't want to use a dedicated clay lube. Squeeze suds onto your paint with your wash mitt then go at it with the clay, grabbing more suds as...

You could even wait till the 3rd wash to top that AIO depending on the products

How many of you use a machine to remove LSP?

I'm faster by machine when I use the "kiss the finish" technique AND I use much less product. I do lose a few minutes pulling out the cord out for the DA. I get your point though. I gotta ask though what sealant is so hard to remove that you need a machine?

Help: Can't take advantage of durable waxes/sealants due to dirty paint

That's crazy I would expect paint to look like that after two years of hard use. What sealant are you using? And do you live near construction or something industrial?
