    Marine 31 Captains Coating Removal

I have a box of Trizact 3000 pads to work with. They did a good job before polishing prior to coating. Hoping the coating removal won’t clog them up too fast. I have 9 pads and one side of a 25’ center console to remove the coating from. Hope that’s enough, still need to do the transom and stbd...

    Marine 31 Captains Coating Removal

Turns out I have to remove some too. I might try wet sanding to get most of it off. I already wet sanded & polished it before I coated it the first time so I don’t think it will hurt to do it again.

    Captains UV 50 coating questions

I have a unopened bottle of the old formula. I think it is several years old but has been stored in a climate controlled area. I opened it to use yesterday. It was the consistency of a thin gel and had a light amber or yellowish color to it. The directions said how to apply it and gently smooth...

Dealers “man with a towel” got me!

I watched a lady at a gas station try to wash most of her dirty car with the windshield squeegee sponge and try to dry it with the other side. I had to cringe. Those are the kind of people who should have dealer wash their car. Sad you had to go through that but looks good now.

    COMING SOON! Project 98!

I don’t either but I’m guessing it’s the release of the Lake Country UDOS polisher. Anyone going to take the plunge on it right away ??

    Sticker glue help

You might have to polish afterwards but there is a 3M pinstripe removal tool sold here that worked to get the worst of my badge residue off after I got what I could off with WD-40. I replaced the badges so it was not a big deal if the paint wasn’t perfect, but I polished the paint anyway.

Car Pro Dlux - still ok to use with this date on it

It was still clear. I used it as a topper for solution finish on bumper trim and other plastic on 2 Toyota trucks. Also used it on the headlights on both trucks after I polished them. It was a little tacky and I chose to do quick wipe application on the headlights without touching them after. I...

I found an unopened bottle of Dlux with a date of 2016 on the box. Been stored in a cool garage cabinet. Still ok to use or trash?

Do you use face mask doing detailing?

Yes! Anytime there is product in the air from application or removal. I’ve had several sinus infections years ago from not using PPE. Have not had one since I started using it.

Review: Pinnacle Black Label Ceramic Trim Restorer

I have used all of those. I’m going back to solution finish. It has the deepest black on my trim and lasts several months. Next application I’m going to top it with Dlux to see how much longer it lasts.

15 y/o Truck Never Detailed...Compound or Damp Sand?

Start with the least aggressive method on a test panel. The tailgate is about the perfect size for that in my book. You can go more aggressive if you aren’t happy with the results but it’s hard to undo if you overdo it on first run. Once you find your happy place, repeat it on the rest of the...

    Sticker glue help

It has to sit on the goo for a bit and usually takes several application/wipe offs to break down really old goo. A plastic razor blade also helps the process without marring your paint. Goo gone or 3M adhesive remover or the 3M citrus cleaner might work. I have all of them at my disposal but...

Anyone use CarPro Dlux on headlights

Has anyone tried this instead of one of the dedicated headlight coatings.

    Sticker glue help

WD-40 is a pretty good adhesive remover among its other qualities.
