What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I feel for you man. LOL We had one of those today. A 2007 Nissan Xterra. The guy was 28 and his parents had purchased for him as a high school graduation present. He stated it had never been cleaned and I believe him. Now, he's expecting his first kid in a few weeks and his wife flat out...

    Solution finish help!

Did you take it off after you were done? I don't always, but that's the recommendation. I also don't put it on too thick so it's usually not an issue.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

It's like window tint. It's just a fix it ticket I believe. You put your plate on, find any cop to sign off your ticket and pay like $10. Then pull the plate off again. That's what I did the one time I got a window tint ticket 20 years ago.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I've been driving for the better part of 35 years in this state and I can honestly say I don't think I've ever had the front plate on any vehicle I've owned. I have six cars right now, none have the front plate on. Never even been pulled over for it, let alone gotten a ticket.

City water is too hard, what are my options?

That tiny double resin system is rated at 300 gallons, I believe, when your input is 100-150ppm. I did the math once, it's been awhile, it was like $1-1.50/gallon at 450ppm and that was exclusive of the cost of the system.

City water is too hard, what are my options?

And, no, soft water isn't enough. Not when your water starts at 400-500ppm. Not even close to good enough. And to answer the question about washing it in the shade, no that doesn't work either. And forget it when summer gets here, which in SoCal is like 9 months a year.

City water is too hard, what are my options?

You have a choice, you can have a PureTec DI system installed. It's pricey up front, but the price per gallon is manageable. The price per gallon out of the little RV systems is like $1/gallon when your water is 500ppm.

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

I suggested in my reply to this gentleman that he do his due diligence. Apparently, he received several more quotes more in line with what I quoted him. He spoke to one of those companies about the low ball quote he had received and they told him NOT to let them touch his truck. He mentioned...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

As somebody that did work with several businesses with HR departments and many employees, one word, run. You can't run away fast enough. You'll turn into car washers really working for every buck you make. And we were told "please keep the services affordable for every level of employee" and...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

So, I thought I'd post about the quote I gave today. Nice young guy, nice new 2017 Dodge Ram Hemi in really good shape. Had a couple scratches, a couple scuffs, some touch up paint where somebody backed into him. Light swirls and scratches, nothing major. I quoted him what I thought was a...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

I totally agree that no matter what means of advertising you choose, letting a professional help is the way to go. I, like you, am not an advertising guru. When we first started, we used a quarterly magazine delivered to two different local cities by mail. It wasn't cheap, averaged about...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

The $200 I spent in November was after a $300 credit, so I spent $500. I've spent $500 a month since November, but only had to pay $200 in November. I will tell you, I thought it was a gigantic waste of money, so did my son. My rep, a really, really nice and patient young lady, used to call...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

Facebook. LOL I think I did a $30 "ad" on Facebook once. I got like 5 million likes on Instagram for my "ad" and I believe it made approximately $0 but I'd have to check my records. It would have been a waste of time for free. If they had paid me $20 to run it, it still would have been a...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

I'm not sure if that's factually correct. I turned down Yelp every day for over a year, never affected me one way or another. I finally let them talk me into paying for their service for one month because like many people I didn't necessarily think it was a scam but I thought it was a waste of...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

Because frankly, in the year 2019 when people want high end detailing servicing, they're turning to internet searches, Yelp, referrals from friends (probably in that order), they're not hoping that somebody comes by their place of employment. I mean we're trying to sell high end services here...

Approaching hi end businesses, card or flyer?

Geez, how much time and energy are you going to put into picking up a customer? I think you envision some time of situation where you take a car for a day and when you come back you'll be treated as the conquering hero with some kind of presentation of your work. It doesn't work that way...

    Detailing Bag

I have three bags I use day to day, the typical detailer bag sold everywhere, one for headlight restoration, one for interior detailing with all my steamer brushes, rags, etc, and a canvas type tool bag that I use for dressing tires, wheel wells, plastic restoration.
