Best Scratch Remover Combo for a DA?

Sorry for a topic that's been beaten to death, I'm a little heated at the moment. I had to vent. Thought I was handling this quarantine with my 3 kids pretty well... and then today I find a door length scratch down the side of my black 19 silverado's door. bikes... Anyhow, I threw a yellow pad...

Is Anyone Else Tired of All the Ceramic Pile-Ons?

Never even bothered with ceramics for the reasons you mentioned, plus the ability to screw it up. I've never done a good polish and seal job and felt I was missing out. the toppers and all that stuff is just confusing and not worth it for me. I did by a ceramic wheel coating though.

    Menzerna Powerlock Prep

even if your sons car doesn't return to showroom shine, it'll be night and day and instantly rewarding. it's the best way to show love to a new purchase. Your steps are correct. orange compound/correct, white/polish/shine and then black/protect. If you get a little more serious, add some...

    Menzerna Powerlock Prep

    1. keep it in the family and get the menzerna fg400. it's a good compound and if you can't get the scratch out with the 400 and a yellow or orange pad, you're not going to get it out, or you'll need some pro help. I've head real good luck with that combo though. Just be aware that a compound...

MK360 or HDSpeed on 19 Black Silverado

360 didn't feel as slick as speed and didn't seem to pop as much either, but these were 2 different vehicles so it's not a great test. I do think it's worth a try as it seemed to hold up a little better and was easier to apply (little to no buff) and claims to apply just fine in the sun, which...

    Menzerna Powerlock Prep

no cleaner needed. Here's some advice and 2 paths you could take given your situation. 1. buy a portercable kit from autogeek during one of their sales. Buy the kit that comes with the pads and get 3 white pads and 2 orange and a black. Buy a bottle of sf3500 or equivalent polish. You'll be...

BM streaked badly, fixed with BF One Step

i never got the impression that BM was a long term protection, i know you didn't mean to use the term coated literally with regards to car detailing, but I would not have thought of it is a 60 day LSP. In any case, the fact that contaminants bonded to it make me never want to try it. mckees 10...

    Menzerna Powerlock Prep

don't clay unless you plan to polish. No desire to polish, then you should be fine with a normal wash and powerlock application. I've applied powerlock 3 or 4 times and never done any eraser or post polish prep and the results have always been fantastic. I will say that I highly encourage you...

    Scratches in plastic

sorry man, as others have said, you're SOL. And yeah an agressive clean might make it worse. I still would do a light clean with something like mckee's fast interior detailer.

MK360 or HDSpeed on 19 Black Silverado

i went from a 16 to a 19, so not a ton has changed. Some nice feature upgrades like push button start, button release tailgate, push button ebrake. decent gas mileage, good ride. There are some changes i dont like with simple things like no sunglass holder and no usb ports in the center armrest...

MK360 or HDSpeed on 19 Black Silverado

yeah that's exactly why i posted the topic haha. THere isn't a clear winner. I will say that i had a lot less dusting with 360, but I also felt like hdspeed had a lot nicer shine. my wife's car is 2.5 months post speed and it doesn't seem to be holding as well as my truck did with 360. Maybe...

MK360 or HDSpeed on 19 Black Silverado

I should add that I've always topped my AIOs a month or so after with mk 10 minute. I intend to try some other spray and wipes when my bottle runs out. I'd also say that my truck lasted really well last winter with mk360, so sure it's not ceramic coated or a good seal like powerlock or colonite...

MK360 or HDSpeed on 19 Black Silverado

I own them both and have used them each once. I can't say I developed an overwhelming preference for either, but maybe leaning towards 360 a little. Anyhow, this weekend I intend to 1 step the silverado with <2k miles on it before winter. She's mint and looking for protection above all else...

    First time using iron remover

I've used iron-x once recently and it's a mixed bag. We've all seen the pics and videos of cars oozing purple streaks, i think there's a famous one of a white bmw. Anyhow, it's satisfying to see the "bad" coming free, and on the other hand if you're not seeing any purple, you didn't have any...
