    Griot's Garage G15/G21 Long-Throw Orbital Polisher *Ground-Up Redesign*

Regarding the lifetime warranty GG is all-in on this and it makes sense for their business model. They design in-house so designers use warranty returns to dial in their existing and future product improvements. If a specific component is breaking down (as opposed to wearing out) the designer...

    Major letdown

The book, "Customers For Life" has been around for almost 20 years. AG lives it. They want you as a customer for the rest of your life and they will go out of their way to make sure that happens. It is the way things work there. Take it to the bank.

What is your current favorite waterless wash?

Uber. Never heard a bad word said about Uber.

    Major letdown

I'm a hobbyist and just placed my 25th order today: Subtotal: $163.91 Tax: $12.71 Shipping: FREE Coupon Applied [tues25] : ($-22.74) (25% off except for Mr. Colorchip kit). My average order is between $100-$500+ so I consider myself an experienced customer. I have had issues, snafus...

    Best footwear for auto detailing?

Crocs. Never in public but they are great for keeping your socks/feet dry.

Getting a brand new car ; what should I use to protect it ??

I, too, am a Collinite user. I use 476s most of the time, even thought I probably have 10 other paste wax choices that I've collected through the years. I also like Wolfgang Fuzion paste wax but it lists for $200 (cheaper on sale here). Both of these are easy-on, easy-off, just make sure you...

Prius Prime Charging Door - PPP or ???

I just bought a Prius Prime (plug-in hybrid) and I want to add some paint protection to the charging door. It is similar to the fuel door on the other side of the car except it is push-to-open and secured requiring key fob present to open. The door requires a push to open and a push to close and...

    WGDGPS topped with Fuzion

Same here. Just did the same thing with a new Prius Prime. Looks great. Weekly maintenance with OCW.

How do you choose a quick detailer?

You can just make your own with one of the countless "formula" mentioned in these forums using waterless/rinseless wash products. Everyone has their own favorite. I use Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash, no rinse car wash and dilute accordingly. You also save a ton of money this way, too.

Well, first day using random orbital polisher, and I failed

Every failure is an opportunity to learn how to succeed. If you never fail you're not really trying. I had a few failures when I started like overheating expensive pads and throwing a bunch of money away in the process. That is part of learning. Don't get discouraged. I learned the most...

Other hobbies or past times outside of detailing

Amateur radio (ham). I’m an extra class (the third current element and highest) ham and also licensed through international agreement in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. It is a perfect hobby for when I retire. There are some hams who are over 100 years old. My other hobby is photography...

303 Interior Protectant - Which One?

Thank you. Even if they are very slightly different they are enough identical to not make a difference. I just ordered a gallon so I won't be ordering or changing to another product for a very long time.

303 Interior Protectant - Which One?

I've been reading all the forum articles and watching Youtube videos regarding interior protectant products (not cleaners or AIO). I think I've settled in on 303 but there is an Aerospace Protectant and an Automotive Protectant. The Aerospace is more expensive than the Automotive. Is this...

    New Car Prep Plan

Thank you. It is a daily driver so I don't get that excited about it. I do appreciate this forum and AG's products which have shown me that with proper products and protection to clear coat, trim and glass applied continuously and faithfully can yield an appearance that exceeds showroom, even...

    New Car Prep Plan

I'm getting rid of my daily driver Prius for a daily driver Prius Prime (both blizzard pearl white). I'll be using spray wax on it every 1-2 weeks so it will be well-protected for the long run. I'm going to tell the dealer not to detail it and deliver it to me as-is. I've done this before and...

Running a GFCI plug on my Honda generator

If it is a Honda then it is pretty safe to run it at or near maximum duty cycle. I've run mine pushing an A/C unit for amateur radio field day and it worked fine, all day.

CR Spotless or other DI water systems

There is one more issue regarding the lye and acid. I don't have a dirt patch to do this on, all concrete and landscaping. This is highly problematic because the acid will etch any concrete it comes in contact with. I used a blue tarp (few bucks) to protect the concrete but again, another...

CR Spotless or other DI water systems

One more thing, the 15% loss in separation was not really "loss" it was more like resin that did not separate cleanly so it is neither and did not get processed with the acid or lye separately. It just goes back into the mixed bed as is. Ideally, I would have preferred to be able to regen...

CR Spotless or other DI water systems

The ingredients were inexpensive but I have a lot of resin so the price escalates quickly, especially for lye. A cubic foot of resin costs about $200 shipped in my experience and that is at the low end and it is China-sourced. Continuing, I have a lot of resin for a batch (about 1/2 cu ft) so...
