    Frustrated with Swirl Removal

I am going to ask the obvious question... Did you clay the car before polishing it?

    Poor Buys: Trim Resotre

I just got a multi-pack at the local WallyWorld for $2 or whatever. Work terrific. It has large ones that work great for the backs of the mirrors, and small ones that work great for the intricate grills. Medium ones are terrific on windshield wipers and similar.

Will this darn pollen EVER go away?

I've washed my car 3 times in the past week. Trust me, I feel your pain down here in Florida.

    Poor Buys: Trim Resotre

I've used trim restorer on a honeycombed grill. It is not of a consistency that I would consider spraying, though you could. I put a bit on a foam swab, and dab it where it needs to go. I am thinking of the royal PITA of the last generation Mustang grill. It has the consistency of tanning...

    Ups

Hmmm, UPS ground to me in N.FL. from AG is overnight. Can't beat that with a STICK.

A few Surf City Product Reviews

Yes, I became aware of the line through this site when you carried it. I guess it got lost in a sea of other products. Seems such a shame to have lost it, but their brand identity could really use some work. Some products are very well defined others have very confusing crossover. Their...

A few Surf City Product Reviews

Do yourself a REAL favor. Try it. I bought some last year because my only wax was a paste out of a tub. I didn't think too much of it when I got it. Until I used it the first time. What a shock. Now, I use it on my own car, and I use it on every detail where a wax is the LSP on a daily...

A few Surf City Product Reviews

That's a shame. My Advance carries quite a nice selection. Mostly the consumer lines of Megs and Mothers, but still. My Pep Boys is rather impressive by comparison, with 8-10 Surf City products, and now the AutoGlym stuff. And they carry some of the Megs Mirror Glaze line, and a few other...

A few Surf City Product Reviews

Well, I know it's national, but maybe not all Pep Boy's carry them. I know the parent company owns O-Reily's and some other stores, so check there as well. But honestly, ordering from the company directly is simple and easy.

A few Surf City Product Reviews

Yes, I was at Pep Boys tonight. I nearly picked up some Dash Away, but decided to hold off for another few weeks. Pep Boys doesn't carry the larger sizes and frankly the SCG products are just too expensive in the RTU sizes. Buying them in bulk is the only thing that makes sense. I have...

A few Surf City Product Reviews

I have not. I may try it at some point, but I tend to stick with Poorboys stuff for things like that because I do many of my details outside in Florida. Their products, along with Optimum products have proven themselves to me. The SCG stuff is truly awesome for cleaning though so that's how I...

A few Surf City Product Reviews

Last year I decided to try the Road Trip Grime Destroyer product by Surf City. Like many of you, I'd become pretty jaded by a number of products but it got some good reviews so I gave it a go. Long story short, it's magic in a bottle. Really. If it's not in your aresenal, you are REALLY...

    Porsche 996 Carrera 4

I did a very similar Porsche last year. Same color and also with a clearbra. I got bit on that detail by leaving the key in the ignition. Not a mistake I'll be repeating! Detailiers, if you work on a 996, do NOT leave the key in the ignition, even in the off position. It *WILL* drain the...

    Trim restorer/protectant Votes

I have them both, and use them both. I use TR for most applications though. I think on really tough (old and crusty) trim, Black Wow looks better with a single application. I think if you have the opportunity to use TR on the same trim over a few applications it will look better overall...

    Meguiars APC+

I keep APC+ in three concentrations. 20:1 10:1 4:1 Anything I can't get clean inside gets 20:1. If that doesn't work I move to 4:1. In only ONE detail have I ever used 4:1 inside. And that was for a very limited application. At 20:1 it's spray & wipe. At 10:1 it's perhaps a bit dicey as a...

Review: Daytona Speed Master Wheel Brush

Sorry, I haven't been here in a while... I have not used PB Spray and Rinse. I don't normally use Grime Destroyer on wheels. I usually cut it 3:1 and use it as a pre-cleaner on the paint, engine, fuel filler flap, anywhere there is likely to be caked on grease, road tar, or other garbage. I...
