Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

Cool. Nah, she'd likely to refer to it as "ours" or "hers"

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

I think I see what you're saying re wife driving it - when I said it's in the garage if I'm not driving it? Ok, no, what I mean is, it doesn't sit outside in the sun or weather when not in use. And "use" is generally defined by whether or not she runs around in it that day.

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

I gotta learn how to put colored text in there like that...... I've been a participant on a BMW forum for years. I get the mission creep; just wanted to clarify wasn't my plan to get a "queen" discussion going - not posting for any agenda other than knowing that once I started the discussion I...

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

Yeah, I have been using a spray-on. There's been a bit of mission creep to this thread from my original posting. I was originally asking members' thoughts on my lack of getting a sealant or wax on during the last year. Information about it being garaged, covered, and driven when I feel like...

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

My daily driver BMW and reasonably nice truck sit outside. My dirt bike and Camaro are garaged. You know, priorities..........

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

Huh? I dunno about anyone else, but for me it's just a toy; kids are grown with their own families now, and my wife likes the car, so one day she calls me at work to tell me she picked one out. Nothing else to it. Daily driver is a 5 series (albeit not a new one), so I'm not "roughing it" anyway.

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

So after posting this, i was browsing the Dodo Juice products, and i pop back to see 2 recommendations for same. Interesting...... ok, i'll go with that. whaddya think - diamond white or light fantastic? I have a GG 6" if that affects my choices - hard, soft, etc. Hmmmmm. The irony of...

Just how necessary is using a wax or sealant.........

My 2011 Camaro SS stays garaged and covered (in the garage) to boot. Comes out on goldilocks days only. While I would probably enjoy waxing it, it's a silver car and I've read here (somewhere) that a sealant may look better. Yeah, no excuse for not doing anything yet. Yep, you read that...

First "job". first post (here) & a True Crime story

Well, now you got me wondering. Maybe that is the original color. Not original paint, I wouldn't think. And clear coat? No signs of any clear coat failure - more like if roll around on it in a white t-shirt then you would be wearing a green shirt......See the pic of the hood after I washed...

First "job". first post (here) & a True Crime story

Ok, ease way up on the pressure. Check. Less product? Sure, ok, I'll try it. Right now I wouldn't be accused of going easy on the quantity, so I'll work with that. I have read and watched all the videos and stuff here for awhile in getting ready for this, so have been trying to follow the...

First "job". first post (here) & a True Crime story

I can rub on it with a t-shirt and have a green shirt............... It has been repainted. I think original may have been black. Not important - point is that opening a few hatches, hood, etc. and it's clear (no pun intended) the car was repainted at some time in its life. Here's pic of the...

    New from central Wa.....

Thanks. Plan to post my activities for feedback as I work my through the household fleet. A Tundra I have gets paint defects if the neighbor farts too loud, so this'll be interesting. Following the least aggressive approach, I'll probably start by just telling the truck that I bought a DA...

First "job". first post (here) & a True Crime story

Me and my ever-thinning wallet are, nevertheless, wide open to pad suggestions here.............goal is rejuvenation using the Griot's I have whilst avoiding shredding enough pads to gain admittance to pad manufacturer's lifetime Christmas card list. I have a rotary buffer, but thus far it's...

First "job". first post (here) & a True Crime story

Washed car and used an APC (similar to simple green). Toweled off (ended up with a green towel, natch). Then yeah, I clayed it. kinda debated on using up some clay on this car, but did it anyway. 1st pad got pretty warm, and started to disintegrate. Used Griot's on #5.5 with both the 105...

    New from central Wa.....

Read through this forum for a couple months, and bought a handful of things to get an older Camaro squared away. See post w/pics in "Show & Shine" (?) section, assuming that was the right place to post that. Then intend to expand skills but not beyond maintaining my own 3 or 4 vehicles, plus...

First "job". first post (here) & a True Crime story

Yeah, I did the corny opening line, but hey, all 3 assertions therein are true, so bear with me. Crime Scene: a severely neglected 1991 Camaro. (Crime scene photos follow) The Perp: a (now) 20 yr old with an apparent aversion to car care products. Moved to Florida to be with his chick, which...
