When Did This Get So Complicated?

I think we're going through some exciting times. And I think we have you guys to thank for it. By "you guys", I mean the detailers who do this for a living, the dedicated weekend warriors who spend a lot of their spare time and money supporting their love affairs with their rides, and the folks...

    Dilute ratios

That's why I always come to this site. I learn something new every day. Seriously, thanks for the info.

How many polishers do you have?

I have a Flex 3401, a Flex 3403, and a GG 6". I think we all need help. (lol) Maybe someone will start a rehab program for us. I know I need help, because I'm already thinking of my next polisher.

    Looking to buy first DA!

If I can offer my opinion on a DA polisher, it would be this: Everyone has preferences, but I would advise you to buy the very best that you can afford. I started with a 6" Griot's Garage, (very good quality and also affordable) and then I got a Flex 3401. I'm happy. Good luck.

Absolutely no business coming my way!! WHY?

I really feel for you, brother. You sound like your confidence has been affected by the tough times that most businesses and business persons experience when they first start trying to get their business off the ground. If I can be allowed to offer you some advice it would be this: don't under...

    Flex XCE 9-8 150

I hope that you're right, I really enjoy working with the 3401. But in the name of progress (and profits) things change. The 3401 will be looked at the way we look at the black '66 GTO the member sent pictures for us to admire the other day. I don't know how you can improve upon what is...

    Why does she hate me?

Beautiful car. I like the wheels. Enjoy it; working on it will be a labor of love.

    Flex XCE 9-8 150

Since I don't have issues with my 3401, I think I'll wait for awhile. The 3401 is an awesome machine: innovative, durable, and the forced rotation makes short work of most correction, provided that the correct pads, polish, and technique is used. Having said that; I have no doubt that the XCE...

    Door Jambs

You don't rotate your microfiber towels? I usually buy the more expensive ones that I use for paint correction and wax/sealant, and the Costco type which I use as all purpose towels; drying, windshields, and if they're soft enough, for polish removal. When I launder the Costco towels, I start...

Thank you for the information; tguil, I'm just about at the point where I'm willing to give it a try.

    Lime/calcium blotches on car?

I just bought a car that is 10 years old and must have been stored in a garage because of the low mileage and the stains on the hood that remind me of what I see on your daughter's car. I've tried just about everything, except for the CLR, which I will try next. I've clayed, used white vinegar...

    Tips for this weekend?

PS21 is another excellent paint cleaner that will prep your vehicles for your wax and/or sealant. You can't go wrong with Klasse AIO either. Neither one of these is abrasive.

    Do Dashmats work?

Thanks to AGOatemywallet for making the tint regulations in all 50 states available to everyone. Good looking out.

How far do you go (level of cleanliness)

Do what makes you feel happy and complete. People think I'm crazy, with the 3 buffers, bottles of polish and wax and sealants lined up on a table in the basement, microfiber towels stacked in bags according to size, purpose, and thickness, and on and on. But I feel happy and complete; Frank, and...

    1959 Impala - 40yr old lacquer - Pinnacle Auto Detail - CT

It looks like it came out of a time machine, with the chrome and beautiful details cars had during that time. You'll probably get 75 grand for a pristine car like that. Excellent detailing, congratulations.

How many of you use a MACHINE to WAX your vehicle?

I use a machine about half of the time. It depends on the type of wax, and if I'm feeling lazy. Sometimes I'm a quarter of the way into laying down a coat of wax by hand before I realize I could/should be doing it by machine.
