To buy 3401 now or wait ?

I would agree. I'd wait and see if the long throw model is competitively priced. Knowing how excellent Flex products are, I don't think you'll regret waiting.

stuff slide around in the back of SUV.

I had the same problem, and a trunk organizer along with a cargo net took care of it. (As long as you don't overload them)

    Incredibly Cheap Finds

Costco has them too. The dollar tree is a home away from home to me. I find stuff in there all of the time that I'm not ashamed to buy or use. I haven't seen those applicators you found, though I WILL be looking for them. Thanks for the heads up, Alex22.

    green pollen

Yeah, my car turns green every spring too. I have a terrible case of hay fever that is affected by tree pollen, so I suffer from March to June. I plan to use a coating that will enable me to rinse with water followed by a QD.

    Which polisher to invest on?

I compound with the 3403 and finish with the 3401. I also use the 3401 on curves, creases and the bumpers. I don't have the experience with a rotary to feel secure enough to go there yet.

When will Collinite introduce a spray wax or instand detailer?

I kinda like the niche that Collinite has carved out; the way they have remained true to what got em where they are. I would hope that they wouldn't start getting greedy, going "Hollywood", and screwing up the magnificent product line they have that we love and respect.

    best wAX OR SEALANT

Best bang for the buck: Collinite 845 Insulator wax and Poorboy's EX-P Sealant. Inexpensive; so you can get some even when your wallet is thin.

    150 Dollars to Blow

25 bucks for 250 ml. of Sonax Perfect Finish. A good all around polish you can use. 20 bucks for 750 ml. of Bombay Sapphire. I've never tried to use it on my car, but it'll work wonders on your head for sure.

    Which polisher to invest on?

Get them both! That way you'll have the best of both worlds. I have the Flex 3401 and 3403. I would like to have been able to purchase the PE 14-2, because it sounds as if it is the perfect rotary to have, but I'm just a weekend hobbyist, and I have to watch my dollars. I wish you the best of...

    I bit the bullet.. I just bought a G21

Congratulations on your new polisher. I know you're looking forward to a spring and summer of the kind of labor that brings the satisfying feeling of having a ride that shines like glass. Please send some pictures of your results.

1967 Pontiac GTO Single Stage Paint Polished and Jeweled

One of the most beautiful cars ever produced. You've done it justice with your work. I'm envious of anyone who is fortunate enough to own one. Thanks for the pictures.

    Where can a Canadian purchase a VX5000?

You can try Vapor Systems LLC, located I think in Springfield, Missouri. The website is under that name if you google it. You can also try ebay, who sometimes will have used VX5000's for sale. Good Luck.

Sequence of detailing steps advice, please

I needed some clarification on exactly how to utilize the products I plan to use when applying the CAR PRO UK coating system. Do I: wash and dry first, then use the Iron X decontamination followed by another wash, rinse, and dry then claying followed by compounding, polishing, using CAR PRO...

    R.I.P. Twinkie

I've been on both sides of the labor-management issue; there are no easy answers on a lot of concerns but common sense and compromise seems to have taken a back seat here (at Hostess) as it does anywhere whenever emotions and stubbornness become involved. Bottom line: everyone loses.

When I comment on Bus recons, commercial vehicles.

Hey T.D. I work for 2 different bus companies and have been doing this type of work from time to time, although I mainly just drive them and train new bus operators. This is no easy work! But if it opens some doors for you in terms of future opportunities, then I'm happy for you. One thing for...

what is everyone doing to prepare for Sandy ?

Batteries, soup, dried foods, charged my telephone and Kindle so I could read by lantern light, battened down the windows, doors, and anything that could fly around, and parked my car where it wouldn't be under a falling tree or tree branch. Not much else you can do. The waiting is the worst...

    should i buy the VX5000?

Just a word about Steve. When I ordered my VX5000, I talked to him several times and got the impression that this is one cool dude with old school values and he's a businessman who's as straight as they come. In his dealings with me he was always true to his word and this as much as the fact...

    Baby Talk

Congratulations on your soon-to-be baby. I have two and they have changed my life in ways I never dreamed. You have a love for your children that's greater than the love you have for yourself. It's hard to describe, but from the time they are born you live for them, and you don't mind it at all...
