Any idea of what may have caused this?

Very careful and extremely slow sanding, then polishing to level the clearcoat. Just remember that the sanded area will be much thinner afterward. The clear could fail much faster than the clear around it.

    Automatic car washes ??

Last drive through wash I used was at on a rental car at a winter wedding in Missouri. It was 17 degrees below zero and there was no way I was going to wash that car! The was was jammed! It was all indoor and fully heated. The guy that owned it was a great marketer. No other wash in town was...

Q & A with Rob McCrary from SONAX about Rim Shield - Newest SONAX Product!

Can the product be applied to a thin MF and then wiped on the wheel? I will never use another spray product that is sprayed on the wheel in such a way as to contaminate the rotor and pads. I had a very dangerous first application of the brakes once due to a wheel spray. Not one sold at AG. I...

Greasy fingerprints that can't be washed

Keep your fingers crossed that the mechanic didn't have brake fluid on his fingers. If he did then those fingerprints might be permanent. As in they ate into the paint.

    Modify Pressure Washer?

A typical garden hose will swell too much, as well as the fittings on the end can fail at the pressure levels that the reinforced pressure washer hose is designed for. I have 125 psi coming from the street so i have pressure regulators before it enters my house. But when I was re-plumbing the...

Pressure washer, how much is too much?

I have two. A reasonable sized electric from Costco. Snap-On 2200psi. And a Honda powered Karcher 4400psi. Which is actually a little too light weight for paint removal (on houses) or cleaning concrete driveways. I have used it on cars or heavy equipment in areas where there is no electricity...

We Need More Sun Here In AZ!

The local news said that Phoenix may break it's current record of 127 degrees. How do people live in that kind of temperature. That is getting hot enough to cook a steak "rare"

Used too little CquartZ Opinions Needed

I have had very good luck using this application method. I bought several small, very soft sponges. I wrap them in really thin plastic wrap then wrap them with the CarPro suede clothes. This keeps the product from soaking into the sponge and being wasted. Then i throw away the suede cloth. And...

    Water tank algae issue

Chlorine bleach is perfectly OK to use as an algaecide. The concentration needed to kill algae is well below the concentration needed to damage any paint I have ever heard of. But the concentration needed to eliminate your already heavy growth should be to just pour in a gallon and mix it...

    Outlet store purchases?

I drop by the Chemical Guys factory store whenever i am near them. They have a shelf near the front door with "scratch and dent" stuff at incredible discounts. Same inside, but the outside might have a label upside down or crooked, tin cans dented, or even a batch of liquid soap made with the...

    Car and motorcycle storage

If at home in a closed garage get a car or bike bubble. It is the only way to keep the rodents out of your vehicles. One week of mice can do thousands of dollars worth of damage to your in car wiring. I had a nice closed, dry garage and I had kill bait along both walls and under the car too...

    Polishing/Jeweling really hard paint

For Jeweling I use the exact same procedure on every hardness of paint. Rotary with a Gold Pad and Menzerna PO85rd or it's new designation. I use a very low speed and move the polisher very slowly across the paint. I seldom use any pressure other than the weight of the tool. I spend...

    Embedded brake dust need help/tips

I had a set of wheels that had never had the barrels cleaned. Ever. I tried everything that was already discussed. Since the barrels were bare aluminum and rough finished I tried the weapon of wheel destruction. Comet and a really hard brush. It took a lot of pressure and a lot of scrubbing...

They washed my freakin car !!!!!

As I actually had a dealership light my car on fire I now firmly believe that there are no longer any English literate employees at any dealership, anywhere. I am thinking of contacting 3M and having a custom run done of that sticky white plastic that brand new cars are wrapped in when shipped...

OK, I was envious: 2008 Aston Martin Vantage V-8

They have fallen in price so that they are now affordable. 2008's with high mileage (25 to 40 K) are under 50,000.00 and the really low mileage almost new ones are in the low 60's You are going to spend more than that for a pick up truck these days. So why not enjoy what you drive?

    Are people really this cheap?

Are you really surprised? After all. Haven't we all seen the person at the gas station washing their 40K car with the window scrubber and the filthy bucket of soapy crud while wiping the car off with the free paper towels?
