    CarPro Immortal - Self-Healing Coating

yeah... wow.. looks like it takes a full respray to get it to bond correctly, basically a new layer of clearcoat on top like ceramiclear for mercedes. so look at dropping 4-5k if you want it done.

Exterior Trim product question for snow.

It has black coloring in it, and it brought the blackness back into the faded trim I put it on, I didnt have any severely faded trim, but because it has the color in it and not just clear sealant, I doubt it would have issues reblackening old trim. A lot of people on the forum have used it...

Exterior Trim product question for snow.

the turtle wax endura shine for trim! i put some on a test spot on the bed rails of my truck.... 4 months ago, and it's still looking awesome, bout to do the whole truck in this stuff, 3-4 coats of it. looks great, works great, i see no reason to buy anything else as you get a ton of it, its...

Alternative to using Hot water extractor?

so many better ways to get rid of big stains like that without an extractor... that guy deliberately spread it around and smeared it... looked like a bad political advertisement lol

    The Power of Wheel Brightener

no, you don't polish an anodized coating. anodized coatings are basically controlled oxidation. the shop that did the damage told me they were going to polish them out for me. i told them go ahead and try, but two things.... one it's going to take forever to polish out anodized finished, and...

    Washing/Maintaining LARGE Trucks/Vehicles

you take it through a touchless wash, or to a self spray bay unless you have access to a pressure washer or garden hose.... you cant wipe away dirt piles, you have to blast it away, soap it up and let it soak, then blast away again.

    Washing/Maintaining LARGE Trucks/Vehicles

i second the second post... i dropped a few coins on a boars hair brush to make doing my larger vehicles (sequoia/tundra) an easier chore. and it does a good job of it... with a gallon of megs hyper wash and some soak time with the brush in a warm water wash bucket. they come out great, and are...

    The Power of Wheel Brightener

be sure the wheels can take it. this is what a shop did to my volk gt-7 wheels when they let somebody clean the car after they were done with the bodywork.... all the work they did to the car and they completely destroyed the finish on a set of 3500 dollar wheels. clear anodized rims should...

The Pencil Trick - What is a bead of product when using a rotary buffer?

maybe the term started when a welder coined it? only other place you use the term laying a bead and putting a line of product (or running a whole rod in a straight line) is with welding.

    Has anyone use D114

whoops. lol typo hah. damp towels are better than damn towels.... i agree with the eraser comment though, d114 makes a good panel wipe for removing oils even better than the wash itself does with the added ipa.

    Has anyone use D114

the d114 is great, i will say the downside to it is when you use it on a completely uncoated surface, your towels will grab the surface quite a bit, so using a damn but wrung out towel makes all the difference when drying an uncoated surface. drying a coated surface (coated the hood only right...

cobra gold plush delux or cobra supreme 530?

i agree, i used the golds and the purple jrs and the 530s. i think the 530s are best by far. the golds feel "fluffier" but it just seems like they want to grab onto everything. they make a good qd cloth though as long as the paint is coated nicely.

Armor all extreme tire gel slinging but AWESOME!

http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/78659-coated-my-tires-today-wow.html check that thread out, a lot of talk on tire coatings. btw, i'd say the turtle wax tire coating mentioned in that thread (endura shine with the applicators) is definitely awesome. same with the trim, i...

    Detailers QD crumbled meguiars clay

some qd are good for using as a clay lube, others are not. typically anything with a solvent in it should not be used with clay as it will degrade it. if all else fails, use something dedicated for claying.

Does anyone use a sponge for a Rinseless Wash? If so, what brand?

been using the bone sponges sold at target. they have worked fairly well, although i would like one with more fiber to it.

Do paint safe bike racks exist?

for a hundred dollars, you can buy and install the rear trailer hitch needed to attach a hitch mounted bike rack to your tsx (you do have a tsx right?). they will run around a hundred on a certain amazonian website. and then you can have your pick from any hitch mounted bike racks that will fit...

How can I fix my wheels?

fun tip. a lot of people here in nebraska will plastidip their nice wheels before winter, so the rock and salt doesn't destroy them and peel it off for the summer time when it gets nicer outside. for those of you who want to keep your wheels looking new

    Has anyone use D114

just want to revive this thread instead of making a new one so i can rave about d114 a little bit. in the 1:125 dilution it seems extremely strong compared to ONR. the one thing that really got me was that i decided to hit my wheels with it as a rinseless, i'm prepared to have my towels...

what do you think about getting leather conditioner into the stitching

but if you don't condition all around the stitching, don't you risk letting that leather harden up and break sooner?
