    mf towels

Yes, but wash them and remove the tags before you use them. I use them for glass, rims, interior, rocker panels, bumpers (but they're all segmented and washed accordingly). I use the expensive MF towels for the rest of the car. Never had a problem with the Costco towels, they are super cheap...

    Opti Coat question

if you clay, polish and IPA the car, all waxes and sealants will be removed. The Opticoat bonds over pristine paint and nothing else.

    Vinyl Seat

The slickness comes from the silicone in the product. Try VLR from mothers, it works really well on vinyl and it's not greasy or slick at all, dries to a matte finish.

Ultima waterless wash or optimum no rinse?

OOC isn't meant to be used as a rinseless wash, it's meant to be used as a waterless wash. The dilution ratio in the gallon size is 3:1, yielding 4 gallons of waterless wash. Ultima's ratio is 1:44, the 16oz concentrate yields 5.5 gallons of waterless wash. OOC = $39.99=4 gallons=$10/gallon...

Ultima waterless wash or optimum no rinse?

For waterless wash @ 1:44 dilution ratio it's the most cost effective. Also, smells like candy.

56 Years of Design Evolution - BMW

I never warmed to the Bangle years. The cars looked like they were trying to hard to be different. I think the new era takes some of those design cues and tones them down to a much broader audience. Conservative, yes, boring perhaps, but BMW's in general have always been about subtle...

    Stoner Glass Cleaner...

I use both the Megs and SIG together. I find the Megs to have more degreasing capabilities, while the SIG finishes better. I wipe down all the glass on the outside with the Megs first. Then switch rags and finish with the SIG. I use the SIG for all interior glass, and Plexus for tint.

    CoverCraft Car Cover Giveaway!

In love with my beater I have to disagree with the OP's original statement that a car is an investment. I see it as a love affair. An investment assumes that you buy a car and the price of it may go up. This may be true for a classic car, but for 99% of cars on the road as daily drivers, the...

    BMW paint hardness

I think paint color has something to do with it as well. But overall, my impression is that newer BMW's have very hard paint. Also, it depends on how much swirls and micromarring you have. No two cars are ever the same, which is why taping off a 2'X2' test section is recommended. I just did...

    Wax poll

Really surprised at the spread in the answers. I've done Menzerna PL on all three daily drivers in the household. Using Optimum spray wax after every wash or every other week after Ultima WW. I can't see myself applying the PL again for 3-6 months. I also live in a place that doesn't see...

    Best wheel cleaner for BMW

Believe me I'm neurotic enough to take the wheels off the car to wash them. I have tried darn near every type of wheel wax, synthetic sealant, wheel protectant that you can imagine. This is the only thing I found that works in a manner that is very differnt. BUT--- Cons: -Will dull the finish...

    Best wheel cleaner for BMW

yeah it cleans right up, but then gets dirty the minute you drive it down the street. The Sealants, waxes, etc, don't work. Yes they keep the paint on the wheels protected and makes them easier to clean, no denying that. What makes the Armour all different is that you spray it on like an aerosal...

    Best wheel cleaner for BMW

2011 535i Sport. The exhaust tips tend to get soot on them, so you have to clean them off occasionally. I would clean them first with a waterless wash or quick detailer. Then use Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish polish and a MF towel. Cleans up super easy. Edit. The tips are not chrome. They...

    Best wheel cleaner for BMW

Yeah, I hear you. No problem for us, but for a lot of people they don't have the space tools or what ever... Clean the wheels are thoroughly as possible with tools and cleaners listed above. Try the armor all wheel protectant and see how you like it. I have been impressed with the results...

    Best wheel cleaner for BMW

I looked into this or Opti-Coat. But keep in mind you are still gonna need to pull the wheel off the rim to apply this properly. You can't just apply this to the front of the rim, unless that's all you care about. With a lot of BMW rims, you can see well into the back of the wheel. Most...

    Best wheel cleaner for BMW

I take the wheels off my BMW and clean them thoroughly. Anything will work really. If a cleaner is so strong that it will magically remove all the brake dust with little nothing but spraying it on and water, you may find some nasty unintended consequences such as discoloration of brake...
