    Hydro2 vs Traditional AIO

My suspicion is that it is like our product and the water acts to wash away the surfactant residue. High pressure will facilitate that more easily but the beading would appear eventually, even with no initial rinse.

    Hydro2 vs Traditional AIO

My point was that you should not compare hydro2 to an AIO process. The comparison, at best, should be to a spray wax or sealant. As such, consideration of pads and such is moot. Has anyone actually checked the 'need' for high pressure to activate? As a scientist, this strikes as marketing...

    Hydro2 vs Traditional AIO

I do not for a second think hydro2 can replace an AIO. It has no ability to either correct or fill, two things that are central to an AIO. If you have a swirled finish, you still need polishing machines and accessories.

    Quick detailer before LSP

And be darned careful - there is no lubrication with ipa/water so you can very quickly put marks into the paint.

    Hydro2 vs Traditional AIO

The hydro2 'type' product is superb. There is truth in it not doing any filling and the car pro product does work out expensive. The style of product should actually work out very economical.

    Ultimate Wax & UV Protection?

It sounds like you want the uv protection, to whatever extent it exists. That in mind, it sounds like the Wolfgang product is your answer. It would be flawed to assume that the ultimate wax provides any protection - the polymers do not natively provide it.

using a chemical polish when doing paint correction

Another example of the confusion that is, increasingly, arising in this area. The most basic form of a polish is when you have no abrasive and no protection of visual enhancement. This is a 'cleanser' or a cleaner polish. I have seen a few references in this thread to 'AIO' or 'glaze' and the...

    Vinegar additions

I wouldn't add it to another product without the agreement of manufacturer. I can tell you for fact that it will react with many products out there - you will basically end up making a cheap solution which is not a million miles away from what is used to de-ice aircraft. Even if you don't get an...

    Washing cars with hot/warm water?

Hot water is, undoubtedly, superior for cleaning. You can get dramatic improvements in cleaning with elevated temperatures. In some applications, you can replace chemicals with heat.

    Ever use Wolf Chemicals

Yes. They were very popular a few years ago, they really had the fanboy vote on detailing world (UK forum). Back then, the deironiser and 'coating' were the go to products. As above, they were plagued by under performance concerns. The fanboys reproduced the party line about the deironiser just...

    deodorizer concetrate

I will admit that I have little experience with a UV catalysed de-odouriser but there are chemical de-odourisers which will destroy bad smells through chemical reaction. Enzyme products take a long time to work, the enzyme does its work and moves on to the next smelly molecule. Chemical products...

    deodorizer concetrate

My apologies, I must be mistaken. What is definitely true is that cg need to work on their tech marketing. Enzymes are so last century!!

    deodorizer concetrate

Are you looking for a deodouriser or just a strong masking agent? CG Stripper scent, as I understand, is just an air freshener and will just cover up the base smells. You can actually remover the problem odours, either with a biological (or an enzyme if your product is behind the times) or a...

The EASY way to remove WATER SPOTS with Optimum MDR Water Spot Remover

What does optimum list on the MSDS, as the active ingredients? Just wondering what they have chosen to use and how it compares to other such products.

Has anyone actually tried the Chemical Guys J-97 $999.00 wax?

The 'jars' used by many of these fancy waxes are likely going to be the major cost. Think about it, they probably sell a really tiny quantity. The development and design of the pot alone is going to take time. If you put a designer onto it and it takes a couple of days and you only reckon to...

    Other SMAT Compounds and Polishes

OK... so are these products and abrasives actually new... or is the marketing terminology the new bit? As far as we can gather, there is a large range of abrasives which have been in use for polishing for a rather long time. Terminology like SMAT/DAT/AAT/etc. is utterly unknown to the big...

Dubmix, Mixing Meg's Dub Wheel Cleaner with Glycerin and paint testing

We make both clingy products and runny products. Our sprayable gel is the perfect product if you get past this - super strong and sticks to almost any surface without much in the way of dripping. Once of our major customers dropped it because the lack of dripping meant that the bleed was...

    Iron X questions

I suspect that the truth is that it was always safe, but they just were playing safe (which is always sensible!). So I really doubt that there has been a change which actually makes it safe now. When it first appeared, everyone was told that IX swelled the paint which led to the release of iron...
