Best way to protect aftermarket chrome wheels

I've never had great luck sealing something high polished optically and it being the same finish afterwards Haven't used a spray seal but a high solids coating Not chrome, but with high polished aluminum...after coating them, while it wasn't cloudy, it was like 2 notches down from where the...

Current Best Hose Nozzle of Choice

Not following the remark. A pressure washer uses LESS water but you defiantly have higher pressure . In my wash routine, I use the PW to knock stuff off a pre-rinse before mechanical wash. Or I use it to foam with a foam cannon before mechanical. Or use it for wheels/wheelwells and such. Then...

    List your coating that failed!

Home you have a great bodyshop you work with. It's like finding a good roofer or honest HVAC I have less than a handful I would use

    List your coating that failed!

reread your remarks. Probably last bullet points on cure . The only coatings I recall seeing a short time was some 3M stuff that came across my YouTube feeds. it was short....like 4 hrs drive off time compared to the usual 24/48. While we're here yakking away, hopefully DDP is busy recoating away.

    List your coating that failed!

I dunno mang......Guz seems to be a OG on the forum and one presume that he would know a chem wipe isn't going to remove Reload . If you did't bullet list it out, I honestly would not have heard what was stated in the procedure that entailed before the 1 minute marker.....shows how much I pay...

    Anodized Rotor Clean and Protect

You're fine. Was it anodized or -e coated-. Regardless, I've used Brake Cleaner on Anodized parts as well.....cleaning up spacers and such

    List your coating that failed!

You sherlocked homes the video and I need to -relisten- to the 1st minute or less cause this is where it covered the details being pointed out...which I would have missed if I didn't pay attention to the what was the bullet list outlined relative to the video. DDP did state he did a 4 step...

What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

Bill D - Isn't your method just as much as a contact wash and exposure to skin/shampoo just the same... For me, which I think we've discussed, while I don't do rinse less and I need plenty of water....I could never get the method of foam fun in hand and running a mitt down the panel. Just too...

What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

Not in disagreement MF ages over time.... Well, given the frequency of how I use them, maybe I'm aging them quicker... But the mitts is still just as supple as it was 19-20 months ago when they removed out of the packaging. Heh, maybe it's the shampoo that is drying out the towels. I gotta say...

    DFB's Soapy Notes

One helluva post DFB. Since shampoo is one of the less than handful of products one dilutes with ones water .....I often wonder how varying is the perception of the product skewed based on water quality. Reset is my top tier shampoo and I find that it foams differently in house A vs house B...

What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

For my Wash buckets, it's really just rotation of TRC Cyclone Mitt or the XL Pad. I use the pad way more than the mitt but the mitt still feels like new. My issue with the MF is the pads....Pads are used on bodies, mitt is uses on door mirrors, door cups, sills, trim, gril, etc. But all have...

What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

Some Paper Napkin Math Per car or by day... 52 Weeks in a Year + another 34 Weeks That puts us at 86 Weeks X 2 Cars + Mixed Garage Queen Usage In the summer, I might have done 2-3X washes in a single week (Yikes) So 86x2+another 40Times for Good Measure. It has seen 212 Car Washes since I...

What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

Mitts get machined wash with the MF's used, etc. I normally don't put the mitts in the dryer as the towels dry *faster* without since there is no inner core of the mitts that have more water and extend drying times, etc.... The fibers on the mitts ain't exactly hard, it's just not as super...

What makes MF get a bit crunchy over time

My wash mitts....over time, they just don't feel supply soft... Just for the helluva it, I put my wash mitts on fairly hot water from the pot, did a MF wash in the washer and even threw it in the dryer which I rarely do with the mitts....I generally just put them on the gritguard and they are...

What do you do to make your Wheel Cleaning Easier

Re: Black Wheels + stuff thrown at it IME , the paint on wheels just sucks these days....chips by just looking at it wrong. Powdercoat in Black is finitely less prone to see the usual rock chips one may see in a painted factory wheel There is alot more to wheels in color that gloss or matte...

What do you do to make your Wheel Cleaning Easier

Their barrel blade is my go to tool. I don't grab any others these days. Mainly as I usually run large wheels and the blade get's into 11.5 with ease I like the MF material It DOES get a bit of getting used to as due to design, you don't have the ability to clean at a sharper angle through a...

What do you do to make your Wheel Cleaning Easier

Coating wheels goes by quick-quicker IME with the AutoFiber Saver *finger* applicator on detailed spokes (if it allows). Alot faster than using a flat mitt for sure. I was thinking about this.....ever clean concrete with a -surface- cleaner vs. just a single nozzle PW tip. To analogize, akin to...
