    Sealant comparison

Have washed and tested these products a few times. Everything is still holding up. Bead-It, Bead Max, and 303 Graphene have been on for 5 months and are still performing well. Spray+Seal and Power Lock+ are at 3 months. McKee's Jewling Wax, McKee's High Def Sealant, Megs #20, and Reload have...

    Sealant comparison

Washed the Rover during the weekend with Carpro Reset. The loud background noise is my generator. I had it going to give is some use and keep gas moving through the carb. That's the loud background noise. Next time I'm getting something quieter. (I always run it dry and use gas extender but have...

    Small trim dressing comparison

Picture from earlier today. These were all washed over the weekend with Carpro Reset. Gyeon looks good Sonax seems to have darkened with time and looks almost identical to Gyeon now DG 271 is somewhat faded Wolfgang looks ok, but not as good as Gyeon or Sonax 303 looks the worst of all these...

    Small trim dressing comparison

I don't plan to do another set of dressings. But I had several to try. I've been meaning to try them on various trim parts around the Rover, but it was looking so bad that I covered everything with Solution Finish and will likely top it with 303 Trim Protectant. I thought it might be...

    Sealant comparison

Washed the car with Carpro Reset and a Big Red Sponge. After testing I applied Carpro Reload to the driver side rear panel. Most products are doing well. Bead-It on the driver side rear door is still at 4 seconds. Spray + Seal has slowed to 3 seconds. Everything else is clearing almost...

    Sealant comparison

Check the products today. Washed the care with Carpro Reset first. Everything is doing well. Good for the products. Not good for me in terms of adding more products this summer. I added 3 products to the driver side door: Megs #20, McKee's High Def Sealant, and McKee's Jewling Wax. I get that it...

    Sealant comparison

It's been too long without an update. I'll try to get caught up with this one. Currently have 7 products going on the Rover. Some quick news: I won't be testing on the Boxster going forward. Too curvy and too small to see good water movement. The Sentra is gone. Our daughter took it. Collinite...

What's the best rinse less wash on the market today?

I have used a few rinseless projects. They're all good for cleaning. I like N-914 for cleaning with no gloss. DG 521 will sheet water for about a week. Uber will sheet water for ~2 weeks. I need to do some testing with the other waterless products I have to see how long they repel water.

    Sealant comparison

Have tested the Rover a few times over the Winter and the Boxster a couple have not bothered to post since no new products were added. Collinite 915 still doing well. Everything else is done. Collinite 845 is still clearly very quickly on the top 1/2 of the door but too slow on the bottom half...

    2021 Telsa Model 3

Great work, as usual. Those scratches came from the factory?

    I’m questioning joining this forum/AGO

Wife sold her 2015(?) 4Runner to get a Boxster. The Boxster is great. I miss that 4Runner. A little underpowered, but otherwise a very nice do-everything SUV. When my Rover LR3 dies my short list is Tesla or other EV and 4Runner. Guessing 1-4 more years for that to happen.

    Sealant comparison

Just wanted to check in. I have not abandoned this thread. I have 2 (3 - can't remember) tests that I need to post. Just have not made the time. Too dark, cold, and wet to want to be out there washing cars. Days will be longer and warmer soon and I'll have more opportunity. Apologies for the...

Your GO TO tire and wheel cleaner....

Tuf shine for tire cleaner. Nothing else I've tried gets rid of browning as well. Slightly diluted APC works also. Tuf Shine seems to work a little better. For regular cleaning I use whatever I'm washing my car with. For more deep cleaning of wheels I use Sonax or DG wheel cleaner. The DG...

    2020 C8 Corvette

Great looking work, as always. My wife drove one. I told her she had to at least try one before replacing her Boxster with a Cayman. She didn't hate it. She wants a stick rather than paddle shifters. She wasn't able to push it hard or take it on a road that would let her get feel the handling...

Foam Pad Options for the Griots G9 Polisher

Thanks for the confirmation, Paul. I have a ton of flat white pads and quite a few orange. And yeah, I changed them often. Depending on paint condition I can use one pad per panel. Maybe 2 if it's too contaminated.

Foam Pad Options for the Griots G9 Polisher

Any reason not to use the LC flat foam pads with the G9? Mike included the link but didn't mention them specifically. I get that pads with a hole would be preferred. I have a lot of these pads, particularly White, which is my go to for light polishing. I can invest in other pads if necessary.

Has anyone used Optimum Big Red Sponge?

I put gallon marks on a couple of buckets, but I generally just make 5 gallons of whatever I'm using. I always have 2-3 different wash products ready to use.

Review: Griot's G9 - 9mm Orbit Stroke Random Orbital Polisher by Mike Phillips

Great review, Mike. Very little doubt this will be my next GG6 upgrade polisher. Just to compliment what Mike wrote, I recently watched a Youtube video where some guys compared 23 polishers. The put the G9 at the top of the pro corded category. One guy said "It's not a forced rotation unit...
