My guess it is aluminum not stainless. If it were stainless that thing would weight in the tons plus stainless does not oxidize anywhere near the rate of aluminum. I would acid wash then proceed with an aluminum polish (not allowed to say as AG does not sell it) on a yellow cutting foam pad...

Alex- I do the same as above. I start it outside and let it run for about 10 min to clear the smell and get the wick adjusted and when finished shut it down slowly and there is not smoke or smell. I used to use additive to kill the smell but with starting it outside, I no longer need to use it...

For my own cars, I leave the Pinnacle Leather Conditioner soaked foam applicator in the car after treating the leather. The leather smell lasts for a couple weeks and the floor heat kinda amps it up.
