As a noob, here is my advice. I had the same problem starting out. Problem being, shiny paint, but I can still see swirls and water spots. I switched from 6.5" pads to 5.5" pads with a 5" backing plate and got the results I hoped for. If you change something, only change one thing at a time...

Glad it worked out. I've had no problems with epic on my headlights. BTW. When I first started out, I had problems getting good results using 6.5" pads. Using 5.5" pads makes me feel like a pro. Easier to control the machine. Seems like I use less product. End up with less test spots too.
