    Topping Of Coatings?

As someone who installs coatings, let me break it down: 1. Most of you forget we are but a very very very small percentage of car owners who are well versed in detailing. My average customer merely washes properly and goes. For these people, coatings do in fact make maintanence very easy. 2...

Any tips for maxamizing iron remover supply?

Do not dilute an iron remover unless they specify to!! Buying in bulk will save you money. Remember, chemicals cost money. You need to know your costs in order to price your details accordingly.

    Chrome plastic wheels

Bob has a great suggestion. I`ve used HD Speed on them with a black foam pad before to "polish" them. Then a good wax/sealant/ or strip and ceramic coat makes them easier to clean and stay shiny.

    waterless wash

It`s important to remember the wind chill factor as well. Even though it may be 30 degrees, it can be a bit cooler under a car port and factor in even cooler with the wind. I usually error on the side of caution. If its so cold where you are struggling to wash your car, just wait for it to warm...

    Will a steamer help me?

Negative. Steam is an absolute amazing tool for exteriors as well. There are guys washing cars with steamers, though I don't agree with that. Anywho. I use mine constantly, especially being a rinseless detailer. I steam around badging and grilles, steam clean calipers and suspension when doing...

    Rupes UHS

This. I remember the first time I held a Rupes Yellow Polishing pad. I was like "No way in hell will this hard thing finish down." But it did and softens up.

    New and different

Welcome Trucker Bob, I learned to detail on big rigs and enjoy them. I used to detail show trucks when I lived in Louisiana. Have you ever used a polisher before? I will say that if you have the time you can commit, polishing and applying a ceramic coating will be a huge benefit in keeping...

    Topping Of Coatings?

This response brings up a point I forgot to make. Synergy. When I actually top, I use something designed to work together. So I only put Reload on top or CQuartz coatings and Opti Seal on top of Opti Coat Pro line coatings.

    Topping Of Coatings?

Why do we feel the need to top our precious wax job with a spray wax or quick detailer? Why must we top that oh so amazing sealant with a wax, spray wax, or quick detailer? So why not top a coating? Thing is.....you do not have to top a coating. Here is where I actually use a "topper" on a...

LSP recommendations for application in cold weather

This. Super easy and you can literally protect the paint, glass, and wheels at the same time. I would wash, clay, wash, Hydr02 if it needs claying. Baggie test will be deciding factor.

    Coating Question for Detailers

Huge misinformation there man, just saying. OP, I hope you read Zach`s post. I`ll add to it. Preparation is key. The better the paint looks before application, the better the end result. Please be educated on how you take care of your car. This is a huge factor in longevity. I have...

PE-8 is fine but I should have bought an Ibrid

The PE-8 is a great tool. You have to drastically step down your pad and polish combo however. For example, I mostly use the 1" & 2" black and green foam pads with Optimum Hyper Polish to cut and HD Polish to finish. It rarely goes above speed 2. Also, be aware of how much pressure you're...
