What should I use on underhood plastics?

I kept seeing 303 AP and Hyper Dressing come up in my research. I ended up going with 303. I also have DLux that I could use, but I feel as though it might be too finicky for all the nooks and crannies, and heat and vibration, that exists under the hood.

It's never too late - A story of a GT3 revival and full body clear wrap

Incredible work! My dad is considering having clear wrap applied to his entire Corvette. Anything he should look out for? Any reason not to? He's planning on doing a bunch of road trips to Corvette meets across the US and worried about stone chips. He also won't be doing much detailing...

    what quantity for a starter

When I first placed my DA order, I got a 12 pack of 5.5" flat pads: 5 orange, 5 white and 2 black. A little while later, I felt that wasn't going to be enough, so I bought another 6-pack: 3 orange and 3 white. Now I'm confident that I have enough to do my Accord. Here's an article from Mike...

Ultima Waterless Wash as a QD versus other QD's

Thanks! A few people have also recommended Wolfgang Rinseless to me as well. On second thought, adding gloss is not high on my list of QD requirements. That's what my spray wax is for. I'd revise my requirement to be: remove residues during paint correction and LSP application.

Need Help Choosing a Bulk Detailing Spr

Thanks for the suggestion! Seems like a very similar choice to Ultima Waterless Wash + in terms of price, and that it can be used as a Rinseless, Waterless, QD and Clay Lube. Have you had the chance to use both and compare?

Need Help Choosing a Bulk Detailing Spr

Last year my process was just using a clay bar followed by the Klasse Twins, all by hand. This year I got a 7424XP and will be using Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Collinite 845. I was also using the small bottles of Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer to remove any Klasse residue...

Ultima Waterless Wash as a QD versus other QD's

I'm wondering the same thing, the cost of UWW+ or ONR as a QD is a fraction of dedicated QD's. It's hard to ignore. I would like my QD to: remove residues during a correction, "even out" the finish and add some extra gloss after applying LSP and be able to remove bird bombs on the fly. Any new...

Turn this Building into a Top Notch Detail Center......Need your ideas and Tips

I like your logo. It's attractive and simply clear, it communicates the purpose of the business very well. Blown up and on that sign post will get people's attention, no doubt!

    vinyl tonneau protectant?

Since we're on the topic of tonneau covers, do they need any special sort of cleaning before applying a protectant? I have 303 AP which I think will work well, but not sure about the preparation stage. 303 Tonneau Cleaner and RaggTopp Vinyl Cleaner have been mentioned so far. Any other...

    Drying Towel

Just got my GG PFM in the mail. Should I wash it before my first use? The package doesn't say.

    Coatings on Exhaust Tips

I'm glad to see that a few people have used DLux! I just got a bottle to use on my trim, but if any is left afterwards I'll try it on my exhaust tip too after cleaning with Mothers Mag Polish. I had great success with the Mothers polish last time.

Recommendations for backing plate and pads for my GG

I just got a 7424XP (same idea as you GG6), and am new to machine polishing. To start off I went with a lake country 5 inch backing plate, 5 inch backin plate, 5 inch hook and loop backing plate and Lake Country 5 1/2 Inch Flat Pads 12 Pack - Your Choice!. I got 5 orange, 5 white and 2 black. I...

How many times do you check the AG forum each day?

Probably a couple of times per day if I'm at home. WAY more if I'm bored at work!

    Towels, where to start?

+1 for the Gold Plush Jr's! Just bought another dozen. Last year I bought some Gold Plush Jr's (380 gsm) for removing wax and polish, and Super Plush Jr's (600 gsm) for quick detailers and spray wax. There were occasions when my "ideal" towels for the task was dirty and had to use the other...

    Looking for a new sealant

I completely disagree. In addition to the wealth of knowledge, I chose and buy from Autogeek because they carry the biggest selection of detailing supplies that just can't be bought locally. I can get everything I need in one order, from one place. I love that AG is a one stop (detailing) shop!

    Drying Towel

I'm going to give this a try. I bought a Meguiars Water Magnet (waffle weave) but I'm not happy with its performance. It seems that once it's saturated with water, it's done for the day. Maybe the "One wet, One dry" method is the answer.

Presidents Day Sale! 25% OFF + Flat Rate Shipping

Perfect timing! Grabbed a RaggTopp kit for my dad's new convertible 'Vette, and some more LC pads and PFM drying towel for me! Thank you Autogeek!

    Trim Coating suggestions

I just bought some DLux. Same performance as C4, but a better value. However, both have a 1 year self-life, so that came as a bit of a disappointment.

    Simple Questions

I wouldn't be using Speed followed by Poxy. That defeats the purpose of Speed as an AIO. Either use Speed by itself, or use HD Polish followed by Poxy.
