    Wolfgang Uber versus Ulitma

Sorry, I meant buying ONR for rinseless washes. I do want to keep UWW+ as my drying aid / waterless, I really like it. Is ONR any more cost-effective as a rinseless? Or still about the same?

    Wolfgang Uber versus Ulitma

I mainly use UWW+ as a drying aid or waterless wash, but I've used it a number of times as a rinseless and it also works great. However the dilution isn't very cost-effective, so I'll be grabbing a bottle of tried-and-true ONR at some point.

    Storage for microfiber towels

I've been using one of these (top pic), but it's full and I could easily use a second. Or maybe a bigger one (bottom pic).

How do I carefully restore the original paint on a 1950 Cadillac?

Hi Mike, I'm curious as to why you recommended a cleaner wax instead of a polish in Step 2? Especially since you applied a finishing wax in Step 4. Is the cleaner wax more gentle / safer for the old, single-stage paint?

    Please Help! Re: 303 Aerospace

I'm new to 303 AP, and I did find it quite shiny on the dash of my Honda initially. However, after a few days, it toned-down significantly, leaning a nice, satin finish. Very happy with how it looked after that, even up until now. And I love the longevity. It's been a couple months since I...

    Pad line

Do you find yourself switching between Flat's and Thin-Pro's for a given panel? I can see doing the roof, hood and doors of my sedan with Thin-Pro's. But I think the fenders, bumpers and trunk lid would need the Flat's.

    Claying every time you wax?

I clay every time. But the last time I did it, it seemed unnecessary, as I hardly felt any resistance or saw much on the clay. I think I'll get a fine clay mitt from Nanoskin so that if the car only needs a very light decontamination, I can do it quickly and still have peace of mind that I have...

Lake Country Flat Pads are a pretty safe bet. I have orange, white and black 5.5" for my Porter Cable 7424XP.

Under side of a vehicle; winter prep question

I get my car treated by Krown each fall. I also take my car through touchless washes during the winter which have the underbody spray. Am I working against myself? Is the underbody spray just washing away the Krown treatment?

    Brown tires?

D143 for me as well at 2:1. I tried 3:1 but that was too weak. Usually 1 application/scrubbing is enough. Can you share Eldorado's advice? Curious if there's something I'm missing.

    Drying aid

You make some good points. But in spite of them, I use UWW+ as a drying aid because I think provides some lubrication and it's VERY cheap to do so.

Poll: Do you wash after claying?

I do not. I keep the entire process simple and always keep moving forwards.

    Collinite 845 problems.

Also, 840 is not a cleaner wax, it's a pre-wax cleaner, it does not contain wax and did not need to be left to "cure".

Advice on Timing of DA Polishing

I agree with your thought process, as that is my current routine. Polish in the fall, so that the wax/sealant has a good surface to bond with for maximum durability. Not so much for the looks. Then compound, polish and wax/sealant in the spring. At this point most waxes/sealants will need...

    Winterizing tip

I'm taking my car in to get its yearly application of Krown rustproofing this week. But you guys have the right idea: if you want it done right, do it yourself.

    Favorite Waterless Wash

I've only ever used UWW+, so I guess it's my favorite by default. However, I still think it's an excellent product since it works well, it's cost-effective and smells great. I mainly use it as a cheap drying aid after each bucket wash. But I've also used it for cleaning door jams, and just the...

    Pad discoloring...dirt? Other?

Thank you both for your replies! I've been meaning to ask this question. I did my first machine polish ever not too long ago, and even after chemical and mechanical decontamination, my cutting pad was covered in dark, almost black, residue after doing the roof. No other panels. I was wondering...

Can't get rid of Tire Browning

I find that D143 works really well as a tire cleaner and at removing the browning. I just did a set of tires not too long ago that have probably never been scrubbed since they were new a few years ago. D143 cleaned them up with a single application. I even tried a second scrubbing, but the foam...

CQuartz DLux Plastic & Wheel Coating

DLux worked incredibly for me on textured black plastic. Not so much on smooth black plastic. The instructions say to keep it free of water for 24hrs. So I chose a day with a good forecast, even the next few days were good weather too. I did all the prep work as per the instructions and then...
