Which Quick Detailer / Waterless Wash ?

I have Meguiar's D155 Last Touch and Ultima Waterless Wash concentrate. Both perform well, are cost-effective and versatile.

    Basic car wash questions

I'm a big fan of the PFM towel. Or you can get multiple waffle weaves. I found the same thing too: that once they get saturated, they're done. I don't think a drying aid is completely necessary, but I do use one. I think it acts as a lubricant when moving the drying towel over the paint...

How do you guys clean wax applicators?

For both foam and mircofiber applicator pads, I just wash them by hand with dish soap, rinse well, then air dry.

Quick Q: Wolfgang Uber Rinseless vs D155 Last Touch Meguiars

What dilutions are you guys using D155 as a Rinseless or Waterless? I think Meguiar's M34 Final Inspection is the bulk version of the original Quick Detailer. But D155 is very similar. M34 has the advantage of being bodyshop safe (free of silicone?), whereas D155 has the advantage of being...

    Klasse Sealant

I have found that or some reason the 2nd coat becomes more difficult to remove. But when that happens, I just use detail spray to tackle any stubborn spots.

    Need microfiber polishing towel recommendation

I really like the Gold Plush Jr's as well. As mentioned, they're good for everything: compound, polish, wax and sprays.

    Favorite drying towel of 2017?

I'm also voting for the PFM. Best drying towel I've ever used. I have the large one and I find that it's a bit big and bulky for doing the vertical surfaces, but it's manageable. Maybe the smaller PFM towels would be better for that. I think getting both would be really hard combo to beat.

what make of car & how many miles do you have (pt.2)?

2006 Honda Accord with 90k. Just got it last year. Owned by a retired lady, so probably not much thought went into maintaining the finish. It's got moderate swirls, so I stocked up on machine polishing equipment over the winter. Can't wait to use it all soon!

My favorite car washing tools - Wheel Woolies Car Detailing Brushes by Mike Phillips

These look great for cleaning the barrels, but are they any good at cleaning the faces? Looks like it would be tricky with the long handle and that type of brush head.

    Iron-X - Clarification

Great advice in here. Also read the product page on CarPro's website. But one thing I'm still uncomfortable with is the agitation after dwelling. There have been a few mentions of that here, some for, some against. Any more input on that? Is it necessary? Is a MF towel or wash mitt any...

    D143?

Just bought some as well and it should be here soon. 2 things sold me. First, is that it cleans tires as well. That means I just have to spray one product in that area. Secondly, a Meg's rep stated on MOL that D143 is similar to Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. That's what I was using before and was...

The "Suggestions" & "Comments" Thread for Autogeek

There is room for improvement with the shipping calculator. Let me start by saying that I am in Canada. Just after placing my last order a month ago I received an email stating that the shipping was actually $2 more expensive then the price listed on the invoice, and they wanted my approval...

    Spring Order...Griot's, Chemical Guys or????

I guess that would explain why it wasn't in the AG store. Too bad indeed.

Chemical Guys Hybrid V7 or Meguiars D156

Me too. I can't get over the feeling that using a "dedicated" Quick Detailer (eg. UQD) or Spray Wax (eg. UQW) as a Drying Aid is a waste of product. However, UWW+ as a QD is such a good value that I don't mind.

    Advice on Small Pad selection

I'm also using my 7424XP with small pads. I just got some LC 3" Flat Pads and I like that they are a bit taller (~1-1.5") so that they keep the machine further away from those intricate areas where you need a small pad.

    Spring Order...Griot's, Chemical Guys or????

M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer comes in a gallon size and is the professional version of the consumer Ultimate Quik Detailer. Similarily, D143 Non-Acid Wheel and Tire Cleaner is the gallon equivalent of Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. I just bought a bunch of products from Meguiar's...

Best method and towel to buff the haze of wax

A lower GSM towel will certainly help. I notice a big difference between 600 gsm Super Plush and 380 gsm Gold Plush towels. The 600 gsm towel "bunched up" easily and so lacked the "bite" to buff off the LSP. Are you working in a shaded area? Direct sunlight might be causing the product to dry...

    Cabin Air Filters

Check it as per your vehicle's maintenance schedule. It's fairly obvious to tell when they need replacing. Here's a good photo of a new filter, one that's halfway there and another that needs replacing.
