Prime or Not using Optimum Hyper polish

I am hoping that Mike Phillips will see this and comment. Next weekend I hope to polish the car using Optimum Hyper Polish. I have watched Mike's video on how to prime a pad before polish. I also watched Mike's video with Dr, G on use of the optimum Hyper Polish. Dr.G seemed to indicate that...

Using Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge with QD

I tried out the NanoSkin Scrub Towel mainly because I was didn't have enough clay and was going to have to buy some more so decided to try the NanoSkin. I am real glad I did and for what I am doing don't see going back to clay...this is to easy compared to regular clay and faster!

Using Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge with QD

You have a point when it comes to production detailing on maybe using less expensive detail lube hoping for the same results. I guess that's OK IF someone can comment on different lubes with NanoSkin scrubs and has used them. Since this was my first outing with NanoSkin scrubs and I'm just doing...

Using Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge with QD

OK, OK...you win! Just kidding. After all the suggestions I believe I'll go ahead and polish after using the Auto Scrub Towel. I did pull the car out in the sunlight and didn't see any obvious marring or swirls. My thoughts were, barring carrying a swirl light around...if I can't see any in the...

Using Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge with QD

Not trying to pick a fight and I can see your point about having gallons of other stuff around but , to me, the key point in your statement ( and we are talking about what Lube to use with NanoSkin Scrubs) is when you say...." probably extremely similar products" ? How similar is, what you have...

Using Nanoskin Autoscrub Sponge with QD

It strikes me strange, that we will shell out the money for a NanoSkin towel or sponge and yet skimp by not using their lube. If I am going to take the time to go over the car with a NanoSkin scrub, I am not going to take any chances by using something other than their recommended Lube. Their...

First use of NanoSkin Auto Scrub Towel

Thanks for the suggestion. Since I'm just doing my wife's car ( my truck is a POS ) and my daughter's car every now and then, I'll probably never get to anywhere near 50 uses in the time I have left here on this earth. HOWEVER....no matter, the NanoSkin Towel is worth every cent I paid already!

First use of NanoSkin Auto Scrub Towel

It is said "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" At my age, I would rather think that old dogs are just used to what they have been doing and reluctant to change. I needed to clay my wife's , new to us car and I am used to traditional clay and needed to buy some for this project. I have been...

Why do we polish after clay?

I have a 2013 that has been in service for 11 months with 11,500 miles on it. It was a factory rep car and looks like it was new. It's gun metal Gray. I did the Iron-X thing and then clayed it using a Nonoskin Auto Scrub Towel, fine grade. If the object to getting a good shine depends on the...

Wasn't sure what to expect with Iron-X

Thank you and Mike. Several on the forum indicated to spray on and immediately spread out with a sponge to get good coverage, which is what I did. I am going to come back next weekend and clay and polish so I am not inclined to Iron-X again unless you two think I should. BTW the car is a gun...

Wasn't sure what to expect with Iron-X

Well, I took my first run at using iron-X and hope I did it right. Washed the car and dried it then I sprayed it down with Iron-X. While it was still wet I spread it around with a damp, not wet grout sponge. When I did this it produced a white film. I let this sit for about 5 minutes and then...

    Confused about IRON-X

Thanks everybody. I feel lots more comfortable in using the Iron-X now. Appreciate the help BTW...I'll be doing a clay job then polish and seal. MY other car I had looking like and feeling like glass but this will be my first outing with Iron-x. Also going to try the Nanoskin Auto Scrub Towel...

    Confused about IRON-X

That's the problem. The car paint is in good shape, only 11,000 miles so there is no correction to do but I can feel the rail specks and don't want to cause any damage. I think I'll just apply iron-x let it sit and rinse off.

    Confused about IRON-X

The directions state "Spray on, wait 5 min while contaminates change color" Then it says "Rub in with a damp soft sponge" I thought Iron-x was a spray on, let it dwell and rinse off? My concern is, if Iron-x is lifting the rail specks to the surface and then I wipe that surface that I will...

    Optimum Spray Hyper Polish Questions

This will be my first detail on a 2013 Nissan Murano we bought with 11,000 miles on it. I will Iron-x first and then clay.I have some Optimum Spray Hyper polish coming and need some advise. I am not needing to correct anything, just want to get as much shine as possible before applying sealer...

Is this hard or soft paint?

And what exactly does "Sticky" mean and warned as related to what? I am just going to clay, polish and wax. What do I need to be warned about?

Is this hard or soft paint?

I think there used to be a chart showing if cars had hard or soft paint but I can't find it and don't know how up to date it would be? SO Is the paint on a 2013 Nissan Murano hard or soft?

    Substitute for Traditional Detailing Clay?

I recently bought a 2013 Nissan Murano. This was a corporate car with 11,000 miles and is in exceptional shape. I washed it for the first time and put on a coat of spray wax just to get me by until cooler weather, then I will do a full detail. The paint is not as smooth as I would like it, not...
