Usually a full wash each weekend for both cars. My car gets a waterless wash every few days with a final wipe with Megs spray wax. I like to drive clean cars.

By hand, no need to get a polisher in there. I would never disassemble a customers door panel to clean behind the door handle. I can think of the number of problems this could cause.

You can do it by hand if you want to. Try some compound then polish. Use a MF towel. Alternative is the drill DA setup you have and UC.

Sounds like you didn't have enough lube on the car when working the clay bar. I've never had a bar go bad. Once they get a lot of grit in them dedicate them to wheel cleaning or trash can.
