    SiO2 and wax over?

If you use old school products over sio2 products you cover up the benefits of the sio2 based products (hydrophobic beading and self-cleaning ability primarily). People do all kinds of things though. For me I pick either traditional polymer based sealants/wax or sio2 based coatings and...

JUst got my SUPA BEAst! Pad recommendations please?

There a thread on the forum where he discusses it. Do a search. IIRC he prefers the 6.5" Lake Country Hybrid Force. Orange for cutting and white for polishing. Maybe a black or red for sealant application if you do that by machine. If using the 5" plate I believe he prefers Buff and Shine...

    Flex 3401 problems

I agree that doesn't make sense with 25 hours on the unit. I was just commenting that the tools symptoms do not rule it out. But tool lifetime would.

    Flex 3401 problems

I don't see how that rules out the brushes. Take them out and see how much life is left in them. If they are almost gone you might have the experience you are describing.

    The Truck Roof

I don't chase swirls or imperfections up there but I'll do a quick polish and seal it up with the same stuff as the rest of the paint.

    Carpro Essense Plus

Overcoat has great hydrophobics and durability for what it is, but does nothing for looks. And if anything I think it has a tendency to mute the glossy look of your work. I tossed my last bottle of it.

    Review: BLACKFIRE Car Dryer

Technically all blowers blow heated air as their motors heat up. Any one that is marketed as blowing heated air is just that - marketing. Unless it has a separate heating element. As to the filter part. Perhaps that sounds like a nice feature but remember your car drives through unfiltered...

LIVE Detailing Class: Super Car Prep 2020 C8 Corvette - BLACK

Looks just like the black paint on my 2016 Cadillac ATS-V. The clear GM is using on their black paint is soft and sensitive.

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee High Altitude - Clean up

Did a single day clean up on my Jeep. Two years old w/20,000 miles. When the Jeep was new it was polished up and sealed with a ceramic coating. Even with a coating the Jeep was looking like it could use a refresh. I have one year left on the lease so I wanted to do a clean up on it, but...

2019 Tesla Model 3 - Deep Blue Metallic

Thank you. I like the PXE. I have used the 3" Flex corded 12mm throw polisher and another brand that's basically the same thing. Those units are bigger and heavier. The PXE is very light and very easy to work with. It is a quick grab for spot correction or just polishing smaller...

Need to sale Rupes ibrid long neck nano

There is no great place to immediately market to detailers. Facebook marketplace usually works really well for stuff that is in demand locally. eBay is the most likely place if you want to move it quick. But the fees are bad.

Dilution products- distilled water or purified?

That's probably just tap water run through a carbon filter. It will filter some things out of the water but will leave most of the TDS. I would ask them at the store what process they are using. Expect to get back a blank stare. Most people have no interest in understanding water filtration.

Dilution products- distilled water or purified?

What are you defining as purified water? Distilled water is water purified by the process of distillation. Water purified by reverse osmosis often removes 99.x percent of TDS. While technically distilled water can be better the diff is almost non-existent between RO and distilled water. If...

Cquartz lite application question (using reload after application)

High sio2 based coatings typically take weeks to fully cure. Likely less time for the lite product. Reload is used to protect the coating from water while it is curing and is often applied the same day the coating is applied (if the car might get wet). But if you can avoid getting the...

Prewash/Tires/Wash/Dry/ceramic wax: How long to complete?

There is rushing and then there is cutting corners. Temporary rushing is often ok. Cutting corners to get the job done sooner will likely hurt your business in the long run (if not the short run). But who wants to "rush" all the time? That's not sustainable and likely leads to burn-out...

2019 Tesla Model 3 - Deep Blue Metallic

Had a chance to detail my 2019 Tesla Model 3 in Deep Blue Metallic. Pretty much exactly one year old w/10,600 highway miles. I have been working from home and did little by little over the last two weeks to get to the final result. Car was in overall good condition. It went through the...

    Seal n Shine

Don't use 3D Speed if you are going to apply Seal N Shine. 3D Speed has wax in it that will negatively affect SNS ability to bond to the paint. If you plan on polishing soon I'd do both polish and apply SNS afterward. If you don't think you'll get to polishing any time soon then go ahead...

    Bummer dude. Torqx DA.

In my experience Chrysler paint is almost always between medium and hard. I've never ran across "soft" on any Chrysler (although I'm sure it exists). Perhaps newer FCA cars will be softer just like every other manufacturer is moving too, but not common on a 2014. 3D One is a good polish...

    Work from May

Out of all those cars this one stands out to me. Nice contrast between the wheels/body color/red calipers. Excellent job on all them!
