What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Been working on the mother-in-law's 2017 Chevy Tahoe. Took me over two hours just on wheels and tires. The amount of browning coming out of the tires was unreal. Each one needed 5 rounds of scrubbing with Tuf Shine tire cleaner to get to white foam. Went with 3D Ultra Protectant to test out...

    Is Griots Perfecting Cream watery?

I don't think you damaged anything. But you may have polished with only the lubricant and little or no abrasives. So no worries there. But the product may not have worked as expected. You still get the benefit of the pad abrasives polishing the paint.

    Is Griots Perfecting Cream watery?

I read reports of this. My current bottle and the last bottle was not that watery. It might work just fine. Maybe reach out to Griot's Garage and see what they say. Either they'll say it's fine or they'll likely replace it for you.

    Is Griots Perfecting Cream watery?

Make sure to shake vigorously. The product can separate where solids settle on the bottle and liquid on top. Easier to see in a clear bottle. FCC, CC, and PC are all about the consistency of hand lotion to me. Maybe a little thin, but never watery.

    Gyeon Frothe or CarPro Reset

Reset does degrade sealants faster than other soaps.

Question for Menzerna products on new car paint

You can probably get away with 4-5 pads for each step of polishing on the Model 3. Sorry I don't have experience with any of those sealants. But I've heard good things about Fusso.

Question for Menzerna products on new car paint

I just sold my Model 3 blue metallic. I used Griot's Garage Fast Correcting Cream with a Maroon Uro-Tec pad and followed that up with M210 with a Yellow Uro-Tec pad. Posted on it here. With a new car you shouldn't need to worry about correcting swirls, etc unless the service center put...

Question: Do you feel spray sealants provide adequate protection compared to traditional sealants?

Depends on the products, the prep, and what abuse you put them through. Griot's 3-1 is one of the better spray sealants out there. I saw this the other day. While he doesn't mention any products he speaks generically about spray vs liquid vs paste. Might be worth a watch. Is Wax dead? - YouTube

Question for Menzerna products on new car paint

If it's soft paint its possible 2500 might not finish as well as you want (or it might just be fine). Hard to say because there are other factors like tool, pad, technique, etc. If you do not need to correct light swirls or other defects then 3500 is probably all you need. I'm not sure if...

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

Another vote for Turtle Wax Seal N Shine. Product loses gloss until after the first wash. Water behavior is just ok and real world longevity is only 1-2mo at most. I'll throw the whole Hybrid Solutions line in here too. Wet Wax is the only good thing there and that is a dust and pollen...

    Looking For AIO

Those two get mentioned a lot. I have read many positive things about Rupes Uno Protect as well.

    Most regretted detailing product purchase

I don't think anything you do at this point will change your mind. Return it if you can and try something else.

    Got my FLEX 3401 today!

If you are thinking cordless you can't beat the Flex. Having owned a 3401 and currently own the XCE cordless I would not go back to the 3401. But perhaps a corded XCE with max power is what you want. Cordless is a little less. Only you can tell if that matters. I find highest setting on...

Why did this happen after polishing by hand?

I highly doubt that. But we're not there so it's really hard to say. Do you have a panel wipe (or even just glass cleaner) to make sure that's not polish residue?

Why did this happen after polishing by hand?

Agree it's hard to see in the picture. Looks like bad marring from claying. But you said it showed up after polishing so that doesn't add up.

Brand new car: ceramic coating alternative to CQuartz?

Yeah it's really easy. I have not used UK 3.0 but I hear it's better than their old products in this regard. But 3D is pretty easy. Hard to mess up IMO. Their coating prep wipe works really well too. When I run out of my Meguiar's surface prep I might pick up a gallon of the 3D Wipe. I am...

Brand new car: ceramic coating alternative to CQuartz?

Kamikaze Myobi worked really well on Subaru Japanese paint. Not so well on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Initially it was great but after one winter, well before a year, and it was pretty much done.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Spring interior cleaning and an exterior maintenance wash on my wife's Model 3. Coated with 3D Ceramic Coating and topped with 3D Bead It Up. Super happy with this combination. Makes washing a breeze.
