Don’t you hate finding dings/scratches on your car?

I find that supermarket parking lots are the worst. There are too many factors that can cause damage like careless people, kids, shopping carts. Even though I make a point to park as remotely and as far away as possible with nobody near me, there is always some yahoo that parks right next to me...

Griot's Garage 3-in-1 Ceramic Wax vs Gyeon Cancoat Evo

I also have not used CanCoat but I do like the Griots 3 in 1. It does last a good 4-6 months but the lack of slickness is disappointing. I usually top it off with Beadmaker.

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

No, just clean rinse water in the rinse bucket. The rinse bucket also has a scrubbing board. I use 1 ounce of Wolfgang Uber per 3 gallons of water. The Griots Edgeless PFM is my favorite drying towel.

    Rinseless Washes - 2022

Wolfgang Uber with a chenille wash mitt or multiple wash mitts and a separate rinse bucket works best for me. The Wolfgang Uber wipes away cleanly with no film left behind. It even leaves the windows clear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Rinseless wash sponges

Rinseless sponges scare the crap out of me. In my opinion, they just move the dirt instead of lifting it off of the surface. I will always use a clean chenille wash mitt or multiple wash mitts with an added rinse bucket. My wash bucket stays relatively clean, the rinse bucket gets all of the...

Can any waterless wash concentrate product be used as detailed?

Wolfgang Uber. 1 oz per 3 gallons of water for a rinseless wash and 3/4 oz per 32 oz of distilled water for a detail spray. It wipes away cleanly without leaving a film. It also works well on glass.

    YOUR MOST TRUSTY BRUSHES?

Tuff Shine tire brush seems to be the best for getting tires clean. Black, shiny tires are a big deal to me and any dressing or coating will not work unless the tires are completely clean. The Tuffshine tire brush along with LATA makes for a clean tire.

NAME A FEW OF YOUR MOST COVETED TOOLS OF THE TRADE.

Kastking Ice River Fishing gloves. I got them on Amazon. Basspro sells Glacier Bay Ice fishing gloves which are also good.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

It’s great to have a day off. After driving in the rain, the car needed work. It got a two bucket wash with a treatment of Beadmaker. The tires and wheels were cleaned. The vinyl trim got a treatment of Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. It brings back the richness of the vinyl. Sent from my...

NAME A FEW OF YOUR MOST COVETED TOOLS OF THE TRADE.

My collection of towels. Each towel has a purpose. In the wintertime, my ice fishing gloves are invaluable. Other tools I cannot live without are my Griots G9, my TuffShine tire brush, my MetroBlaster Sidekick and my chenille wash mitts.

    Has anyone dyed leather seats?

Yes I have. A drop of hand sanitizer got on my gray leather seat and ate the color off. I cleaned the area really well but the spot got darker. I used a color match dye from LeatherWorldTech. I used a staining sponge to spread the dye and applied three coats. After the coats were evened out I...

Any Tips for Griot's Ceramic 3-1 Spray on Black?

It does have a tendency to streak especially on darker colored vehicles. Use the least amount of product as possible. The proper towel also makes a difference. The Griots plush edgeless is a great towel. If you see streaking, you can even it out with some detail spray or some Beadmaker.

    Rubber Floot mat Maitenance

I tried Wolfgang Tire and Rubber protectant but it was way too slippery. I don’t want any lawsuits. Then I tried 303 and as I love the product for the interior, it was a little less slippery but still too much. Then I tried Blackfire Mat Cleaner and protectant and the search is over. It left a...

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I was on the road last week so that meant rinseless washes. I found the outside water source at both hotels. The goal is to have a windshield that looks like it’s not even there. The Griots Crinkle glass towel took care of that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Rubber Floot mat Maitenance

I am a big fan of Duragloss 253 for tires but not for floor mats. It leaves the surface too slippery. WeatherTech makes their own protectant and it works very well.

Time to retire my edgeless towels?

My once good towels get reassigned to other duties as they wear, get thin or leave lint. They serve me well for wheels, wheel wells, door jambs, engine bays, interiors or the kitchen. Some towels get reassigned to my work tool box and they go on sales calls with me. An old microfiber towel and...

It's Finally Here! FLEX FS-140 Flexible Shaft Set for the PXE 80

A bit outrageous but I am sure that someone will buy it, copy it, and make it cheaper.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Especially if you used too much product or let it sit too long on the surface. As a teenager, I would stand on a step stool to get more leverage. It was a good workout for the abs as well.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

A friend visited today so her car got the full treatment with TufShine tire coating and Griots One Step sealant. There was heavy water spotting on the hood and trunk. The Griots One Step took care of that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
