    Pad Cleaning

Never used 360, but I do use FK1000p one of the most difficult LSPs to remove from pads. I've had good results by soaking the pads in HD MF Towel cleaner for an hour or so then cleaning the pads with Awesome Orange Degreaser from the Dollar Store.

    Boss Creams or WG

I've had a Griots DA for 5 years and never had a stalling problem--it has plenty of power. Equip it with a 5" backing plate and 5.5" thin pads and it can handle anything you throw at it. I haven't used the Griots BOSS correcting/polishing creams yet, but haven't read a bad review from anyone...

    Question for Collinite 475 & 915 users

Good to hear this as I've been thinking of giving PNS a try. Seems like it would be a time saver as I could just apply it to the paint and trim without worry about staining the trim. A question: I've seen two different application video's for PNS--one by Sonax with a foam applicator, but...

How do you guys clean wax applicators?

I use the double thick B&S red applicators with the notched center as they are so much more comfortable, so I really don't want to toss them after each use. I've had good results by soaking the pad in Snappy Clean for a couple of hours and then washing them out by hand with Awsome Orange...

    Question for Collinite 475 & 915 users

Finish Kare 1000p is a synthetic wax originally developed as a mold release agent thus it stands up to high heat. It adds a layer of very strong protection against contaminants and very strong protection against etching from bird bombs and water spots. My car was parked at the airport for 2...

    Some Duragloss Questions...

You might want to take a look at Optimum Leather Protectant (AKA Protectant Plus). It was designed from the beginning for coated leather and vinyl so works well on the most used interior materials. Very easy to use, includes a light cleaner and leaves a matte non greasy finish. Been using it...

Good Long lasting wax? And can I maintain for a year??

I agree with Bob except find FK425 to be an excellent detail spray and drying aid. Tremendous lubricity as a drying aid and increases slickness of the finished surface. Finish Kare 425 Extra Slick Final Body Shine, finish care quick detailer, ultra slick detail spray

Extension Cord Gauge For Griots 6" ROP

But if you do this mod on a GG6 it will void the warranty. I checked with Griots.

After polishing, you should wipe the panels prior to the lsp, right?

After polishing I've always wiped down with ONR before applying a sealant or wax and have never had any bonding issues. However, I'm switching to McKees 914 since it leaves nothing behind.

    Sonax PNS vs Gyeon CanCoat

The line between coatings and sealants has really gotten fuzzy IMO. We can buy a can of FK1000p for about $17 that will last for years. With two thin coats applied 48 hours apart paint becomes almost impervious to all the contaminants you mentioned. Bird bombs sitting on my car for over a...

New CG "Clean Slate" wax/sealant stripping soap

Re: New CG "Clean Slate" wax/sealant stripping soap However, polish that same surface with a pure polish (not an AIO), remove the polishing oils with IPA and I'll bet you'll get no beading.

Anyone here using a leaf blower for drying?

I agree it's a little over priced. I have an inexpensive Craftsmen blower that I adapted with a vacuum hose about a year before this model became available. Probably cost me about $70 total. I find the hose much safer to use than the standard hard plastic tube that comes on most leaf blowers.

Which DA Machine? Griots or Meguiars?

If you are using the Griots supplied washer, I found that 2 are needed because they are so thin. One was OK, but the second washer made a big difference with my G15.

GG15 or 21 - Backing Plates and Pads

The backing plates for the G15 and G21 (as with all the long throw polishers) are specific to those polishers. You can't use a standard backing plate say from your PC on them. Pads however are not. You can use any pad that fits the backing plate, but long throw polishers work best with pads...

How long do waxes and sealants last?

I've found that some separated products can be brought back to life by placing a 1/2" stainless steel ball bearing in the bottle and shaking as usual.

AIO sealant/wax for periodic cleaning of paint/ add a coat of wax

Thanks custmsprty!!! I currently use HD Dress on the smooth and pebble black bits of my Passat Wagon. I've been very pleased with the results and durability--been on there since October and still black as ever, but I've read a number of posts where they used PNS on the trim and it works...
