    Camaro ZL1

On top of being hammered with less than 1k miles, clear with around 1.2mils. That would be enough to really pee me off if it was mine. I'm not sure If I'd buy a used vehicle without measuring paint anymore. What a transformation! Great job and you can guarantee he will impressed with those...

Clear Coat Question for the pro’s

Hard to tell from the pics, but it might be clear overspray from a sloppy body shop. I've seen it many times before. Can you feel the 'dots' when you run your hand over it?

New Black Yukon and the usual stuff

Another product recommendation for an engine dressing is Sonus Motorkote. This is probably the best one I've encountered for looks and longevity as long as follow the instructions. My next favorite is Griot's engine dressing. The only one drawback with theirs IMO, is its an aerosol and it...

What is this on the glass??

Yes, just don't try to force the blade in the glass like a gorilla and you should be good. ;) You could try using a soapy-watery solution to help glide it along. If you can get by scraping it off, I'd go that route over using ceriglass if you can. Polishing glass can be a mess.

    3D/HD Speed vs. Mckee's 37 360....

I'm going to assume HD Speed, since he was the former brand ambassador.

    Self Healing Ceramic Coating

Exactly. Clearcoat can actually be measured, the coating itself can not. At least not any coatings that I'm aware of.

A question of claying and working backwards?

If you ever drive in places that use rock chip and tar, you'll see it much differently. I'm not saying my particular situation is the same as yours, and its mostly certainly dependent on many factor including your geographic location.

A question of claying and working backwards?

Just depends on your vehicle and driving conditions. I sometimes find the lower rocker and fender well areas requiring a bit of claying or tar removal from time to time, the rest of my vehicle not so much.

OCD-tailing - You have no idea on the job you have cut out for you. Make us all proud at Autogeek and show the OP who a true ambassador to auto detailing is all about. :)

Why did this thread get pulled....,?

From my understanding, he didn't receive a lot of what was described. E.G: Engine detail, interior detail, and was not supplied with paint readings as described either. However, I'm not sure we're getting the full story as well, just going off what I see. Anyway, not my circus to worry...

Why did this thread get pulled....,?

I wouldn't go as far to say that the shop is the "authority". Actually, it's quite the reverse in most cases. The customer has more authority than you believe and has a strong case for not receiving what was promised.

Why did this thread get pulled....,?

Well, the OP has the videotape. lol It's in the email he received. Well, thats what he copied and pasted here anyway. If he has the email saying he was gonna get a refund, the shop doesn't really have a leg to stand on in court. But yes, I agree with the rest. I wouldn't refund the money...

Feel like I was duped here with detailing and ceramic coating

I'd like to know which brand has a measurable coating? Have yet to actually witness a brand that can be measured with a clear/paint gauge. If I can remove all my paint clear with a compound and burn through to the paint/primer, I would imagine any good coating would easily be removed as well...
