After using an ice scraper on my glass, water behavior did not change at all. This leads me to believe that protection is still on the glass.

Ice scraper will not remove it. Washer fluid may diminish it depending on what product you used.

Got the mirrors and grille wrapped today.

Wheel brightener and a power washer will do this in under a minute with no agitation. Not perfect, but it will be much easier to clean the difficult stuff with the rest of the brake dust out of the way.
