Just got my Makita PO6000C 6” Polisher ... and a few questions ...

Hi there. Whether the DA is in gear driven mode or free spin, the pad rotates (spins) and oscillates and these two motions combine to remove defects and prevent the introduction of new defects (e.g. swirls). As with any gear driven machine, you will notice the pad rotation is not impacted much...

Just got my Makita PO6000C 6” Polisher ... and a few questions ...

I can only tell you from my firsthand experience that in free spin mode the PO5000C stalls under its own weight on speed 4. On speed 5 - it’s max speed setting - it’s rotation is only marginally better and still stalls far too easily for a machine of this price. I would never try to use it in...

Need to restock some sealant---Is there any WOWO sealant with 1 year durability?

McKees 10 minute paint sealant and Blackfire SIO2 spray are in my experience the top products available right now. Love them both. Both super easy to apply and bead water incredible well. After 2 months I see no degregation on either car. Mine has McKees and wife’s BF. ScottH

    Any Cat Lovers Here?

I am so glad to come across this post. To answer your question if aynyone has had success domesticating a feral cat the answer is an emphatic yes! 3 years ago while living in a small condo, a feral cat showed up outside our house. She wanted nothing to do with us getting close to her - we...

Why Do Folks Use Multiple DA Polisher?

For me it's also about spreading the load across various machines to (purportedly) increase their life span too. I use my PC7424 for headlights with a 3" backing plate (and for small hard to reach areas). I use my Makita PO5000C for extreme cutting and compounding in gear driven mode - tons of...

Megs DMX and DMC microfiber cutting pads

Dear forum members - is there a big difference in cutting ability between the ‘X’ extreme cut and the regular ‘C’ Meg MF cuttings pads? For those using the DMC - does it have decent cutting ability, and how does it compare cut wise to Griot’s MF pad? thanks all! ScottH

    Can't clean AIO from pads?!?

In the same boat - dedicated some pads to use with 360. I found Dawn Platinum foam takes the AIO out very well but not quite 100%. That is my only complaint about 360. The old Pinnacle (red) pad cleaner is somewhat effective but not 100% either. Will have to try McKees pad cleaner next time...

Tried my 2 new polishers today

I have several G15's and all are single-washer mod, and when used with LC ThinPro's, LC CCS pads and BOSS pads - ultra smooth. I find it slightly less smooth with Thicker pads but no where near what the OP indicated. I can (and have) used them all day without any issues at all. I love their...

I never liked gear driven polishers.

Joe how does it compare to the Makita 5000C? I own 2 Makita 5000’s and find it very powerful in gear driven mode but takes the right combination of technique and pad/product to smooth it out. ScottH
