Optimum Gloss Coat - did not work on my car! (w pics)

I didn't use the same company you did, but I also replaced the rear bumper on my 2007 Lexus ES350. It came prepainted, was a perfect match, and was in great condition when I received it. I installed it, waited the required 30 days, polished and coated with Optimum Gloss Coat. Turned out just...

Garage floor paint / coating question

I'm just going with RaceDeck. Price is in the same range as a professional epoxy job or NatureStone, is more permanent (I believe), and I can pick it up and take it with me if I move. I'm in the planning stages now.

    American detailer garage (New line)

I've read tons of great comments about both Wipeout and F-Bomb on Facebook pages, but since I only buy through AutoGeek, figured I'd never get the chance to try either of them. Now that they're here, I'll give them both a shot. With McKee's 37 not being an option any longer (very sad!), I...

What do you listen to when you drive?

Audible books, mostly on history of all kinds. Currently listening to a book that is a collection of interviews done at the Library of Congress with authors of biographies of famous people oin US history (Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, etc.). So I'll admit I'm not as...

    Your day in three words

When you've lived the 61 years I've lived, with so very few, and so very minor disappointments, and with the beautiful wife, children and grandchild that I have, and had the luck of good health, and the good fortune of steady work and sufficient income, it's quite easy to be positive. I truly am...

    Your day in three words

Best day ever. And yesterday was also the best day ever. And so was the day before that. And so on.

Do you use face mask doing detailing?

For those that do use them, buy them quickly if you can find them. I am struggling to find respirators for my regular work because of the virus. It's so bad that when I did find some, I had to sign a form saying they would not be exported.

Guz, Thanks for taking the time. I appreciate the info. I certainly learned something!

2020 Ceramic Coating 1 Year Test

Guz, Would you be willing to explain "contact angle"? I've begun to see the term used a bit and would like to know more. Thanks!

    Graphene

My full time job has begun doing some product development with graphene. I don't know much yet, but I do know it is VERY expensive.

    Griots G9 Not spinning

My first attempt at troubleshooting without being there is the extension cord idea. If you don't have the proper gauge extension cord, or if your extension cord has issues (loose male / female connections, cuts, etc.), it can't deliver all of the juice needed to run the machine. I certainly...

    Stainless Steel Refridgerator

I just used Optimum Hyper Seal on mine. Looks great, but still too soon to tell how it helps. I doubt it will do much to prevent fingerprints, but I bet it makes wiping them off easier.

    Portable Air compressor

I just purchased a Makita MAC5200. Haven't used it in the garage yet, as I have it set up in the house while I install baseboard. But so far, I love this thing! IT has enough CFM to run Tornador tools, although the tank might be a bit too small to run them continuously. But for $349.00, I think...

Microfiber Hot Wash Ok / Safe ???

I wash with hot water as well, with no issues. I accidently dried on hot once, and didn't see a problem with that, either, but I don't think it's wise to do that on a regular basis. But hot water to wash, I am convinced, is not a problem.

    Exterior Plastics Detailer/Protection

I have no comparison. When I started, I picked a brand, and based off of one product, I chose McKee's. That is my starting point for any product I need. A few things in their line have been OK, but I thought I could find better, and I've switched a couple. But a few, the Trim Restorer being one...

    Exterior Plastics Detailer/Protection

I second McKee's Trim Restorer. I applied it on my car late last fall (seems like it may have been Thanksgiving, but I don't know that for certain). I was doing a rinseless on my car last night, and for the first time noticed the trim looking a bit washed out. I pointed it out to my wife, who...

Is this a clear coat failure?

I also was going to suggest Optimum Clear Coat Restorer. I've not used it myself, but the videos I have seen look good. However, I think I have it right when I say that even Optimum does not believe it is a substitute for a proper repaint. Good luck!

    Meguire's or McKee's for LSP?

I just did a pearl white Volvo yesterday with McKee's High Def Paint Sealant, and it looked spectacular. Recommend highly. Sent from my moto g(6) using Autogeekonline mobile app

Detailers that hang out on discussion forums know more than detailers that don't...

I am part of a Facebook Detailers group that attempts to do the same thing as this group here. Discounting that many of the product suggestions that are mentioned there are not sold here, as much as their goal might be to help increase knowledge among the group, it does little to actually...
