    Spray Ceramic Coating Side Effects

fly07sti, Your point is well taken, and I agree. This was my fault, not the product's. I posted to help others who might not have thought about a spray coating settling on eyeglasses so they think about it in advance. Believe me, I know I'm the idiot in this case. I was thinking back about how...

    Spray Ceramic Coating Side Effects

I'll try the rubbing alcohol and let you know. Although it would be great if you worked up a solution, perhaps a better (or at least more immediate) plan would be to somehow advise people that this could be an issue. It wouldn't shock me that people who have done this way more than me already...

    Spray Ceramic Coating Side Effects

Good morning! About 3 weeks ago, I coated my personal car using McKee's SiO2 coating. First time I've applied it to an entire car. The car came out great, with only 1 high spot that I saw too late to fix. For the last couple of weeks (not sure how long, but I have a suspicion), I have not been...

Looking for a good trim product

Carbon black is used as a pigment. I suspect that it is the base material that would determine if the product is an ink, a dye, or a paint. At least that is the case within my industry.

Looking for a good trim product

I just used McKee's Trim Restorer for the first time this weekend. It's obviously too early to judge longevity yet, but it sure did a great job. I've read a lot about the Solution product, and it sure sounds terrific as well. I opted for the McKee's based on 1) cost, and 2) the fact that every...

    How to determine paint "hardness"?

The way the medical profession teaches is exactly that. It is know as "see one, do one, teach one". You observe, you do, and then the real learning is done by the teaching of others. I am very active in the Boy Scouts (now Scouting), and our Troop uses this method extensively. A new Scout...

    Business Logo

If I were looking to create a logo, I'd just steal BillyJack's avatar. To me this is the best logo for this industry I have ever seen. Of course, I'm just kidding about stealing it. But I certainly do covet it! Well done, sir! as for an actual answer, sorry, I can't be of any help.

    Forced Rotation VS Free Spinning...

i agree with Paul. Any time my GG6 stalls is when my technique is less than perfect. Mostly it's when I only have a very small area to do, and I don't take the time to switch backing plates so I can go to a smaller pad. But that's not the machine's fault. I will be purchasing a gear driven...

Car wash at coin op and polish at home?

I do this during the winter, and then do a rinseless wash in the garage.

Tips on getting smoke/cig smell out of car

I used a Dakota Bomb (New Car Smell) on a car I did that had cigar odor lingering. It worked well, but the smell the bomb left wasn't much more pleasant than the cigar smoke. I'm going to try it again when I need to, but I'm going to get another fragrance.

nanoskin mitt or nanoskin pad ??

I have mine in the original clamshell plastic package, set face up on top of other stuff on my storage shelf (so that I can't set anything on top of it). The one time I saw any sticking, I dunked the whole package into my wash bucket, and it came unstuck pretty easy. But since I've been...

McKee's 37 Paint Coating, or Mckee's 37 Hi Def Paint Sealant?

I started in before I checked for more responses. I went coating. And the deciding factor (thanks to a 50 minute drive home) was nothing I even was considering when I first posted. I can use the practice. Went on extremely easily (as it has when I've done smaller sections in the past). The...

McKee's 37 Paint Coating, or Mckee's 37 Hi Def Paint Sealant?

Cruz, I had both on at the same time as a comparison. That's how I know the coating doesn't pop like the sealant. "Selling" is secondary to how the care looks, and how long the product will last. But if I can't make up my mind, then I am going to use the sealant because I think potential...

McKee's 37 Paint Coating, or Mckee's 37 Hi Def Paint Sealant?

OK folks, which way would you go? I have both McKee's Paint Coating (v2) and Hi Def Paint Sealant. I've used both - The paint coating only on the trunk deck lid of my black 2007 Lexus ES350 (as a test), the sealant on both the rest of the car and my wife's 2011 silver Ford Edge. I've polished...

Questions About Car Wash Bucket Kits

"Plastic buckets are plastic buckets." Almost 100% true. I buy 5 gallon, 20 liter, and a few 3.5 gallon plastic pails for my job (thousands at a time). There is a VERY small difference in the wall thickness from one manufacturer to the other (thinnest is 87 mils, thickest is 90 mils)...

    Pricing feedback

As for personal belongings, I request they be removed, but don't insist on it. Has not been an issue, and I have a tray I use to collect anything I do find to return to the client. In my sales literature (based on the VIF form available here), I advise that I will NOT remove or reinstall car...

    How many pads?: Discussion!!

When I started, I viewed the call for more pads as a marketing ploy - "You need more pads so we can sell more pads, so we can take more of your money". I did my first 4 or 5 cars with two pads each, only changing pads because when I went to clean on the fly, I couldn't start the polisher up...
