mothers foaming wheel and tire or OPC

Glad you mentioned meg's green apc as I was considering that as well. Was reading that it foams better compared to apc+. I might consider that as well as its much cheaper than OPC. I use folex for carpet, so I don't have to worry about it becoming a foamy mess in that regard.

mothers foaming wheel and tire or OPC

I used OPC in the past, bought a gallon and used it for everything. Tires/wheels/bugs/carpets/wax stripper. What I am wondering about is the fact that I completely forgot how well it works on tires. After I ran out like 6 months ago, I started using A2Z as I remember it being a great product...

need coating to slow down cc failure

I actually tried something similar to fix peeling cc on my fender and I messed up and ended up making it worse. Im afraid to try again, especially on such a large surface.

need coating to slow down cc failure

This is an old issue, so its hard to recall. This all went down like 2 years ago or more at this point. Since then I've just been waxing which is working fine. I will see tomorrow if I can dig up some old threads I made; I madeseverL threads about this issue..

    Your favorite spray wax?

Duragloss aquawax. Its so dang easy to apply and can be done in the hot sun. Doesn't stain trim and has a nice smell. Longevity is great too, I got a solid month out of it.

need coating to slow down cc failure

I have pondered this, but I don't know what it could be. I clayed the living crap out of my roof, and despite that, it still wont fully pass the plastic bag test. Used optimums compounds/polishes and did ipa wipe down and applied it to the panel in the shade, panel cool, on a mild day. But I...

need coating to slow down cc failure

Thinking of giving coatings one more try on my Altima. The clear coat is slowly getting worse on my roof. I figure the only thing I can do besides a repaint is coat it with something permanent/semi permanent and hope it helps hold it together a bit longer. I had a real bad experience with...

WANT: Looking for coatings other than opticoat. Don't need much, I really just want to do my roof and possibly my hood. Trade: 95% tub of autoglym paste wax. The same stuff that was the forum boner a few years back. I even have the original packaging still if that makes a difference. Good...

Duragloss Aquawax is the real deal!

Figured I would update this. So far its been 3 weeks and its still there despite it raining 3-4 times and me washing it today. I recoated a 3rd of the car, leaving half the hood, the roof, and two doors untouched to see how long Aquawax holds up in the long run. G

    Yet ANOTHER car for me!!!

LMFAO. Im not active here much anymore, but I recall OP and his car buying shenanigans. Its been awhile, give us a rundown on what you've had. From my recollection, it went something like: 2013 mustang gt, 2011 mustang gt, Camaro...... That's all I rememeber.. Then you ended up with a vette...

Duragloss Aquawax is the real deal!

I actually picked some up locally earlier today as I have a local store that sells duragloss products, I picked up a bottle and I love it. So easy to apply. I misted the microfiber, and misted the panels. Wiped it in to make sure its spread evenly. Flip the towel and buff off any remainder...

what do you think? any opticoat left? - video

Well. The whole reason I jumped into opticoat was because my clear coat is failing. I figured a permanent coating would be the best thing to top it with as I figured its better than nothing in terms of trying to protect it. Note I have no actual knowledge as to whether it would do anything...

what do you think? any opticoat left? - video

I know that beading is kind of superifical, BUT, its also a great indicator if something is still present. If the whole point of opticoat is to protect the paint, there should(in my mind), be something that will help indicate if its actually on the paint.. Also, beading/sheeting really is...

what do you think? any opticoat left? - video

Atleast I know Im not the only one. Im gonna switch back to waxing I guess. I wanted something to actually protect the paint, which was my whole reason for opticoating. Oh well. Wax it is.

what do you think? any opticoat left? - video

That's about where Im at. Ive pretty much given up on coatings I think. I don't trust the claims anymore. I think Ive gonna invest in a spray wax of some sort and just use that every wash. Maybe something like reload.

what do you think? any opticoat left? - video

I opticoated my car two years ago and had nothing but problems with it. It would bead for a month, then stop. I had re-applied it 3 times and the same result. I prepped by the following: Wash, clay, opti-compound, opti-polish II, IPA wipe down, opti-coat. I applied it correctly, and...

thinking of trying ironx to revive opticoat- have questions

I wouldn't be surprised if its dead. I've had never ending issues with opti coat. I wish I never bought it in the first place and tried cquartz instead. I figured I should put a best effort into reviving it however as some parts still bead a little. I think I am going to wash it with APC...

thinking of trying ironx to revive opticoat- have questions

Very cool! I will have to give this a shot. Its not too much either. In for more suggestions, but this might also be a good general soap replacement if it will help clear up the surface.
