Any solution for wheel bucket organization?

You could get a belt, or harness of some type, from a military surplus store. Then attach the brushes to that. You could also attach your detailing clay, a flashlight, vinyl protectant...um....cell phone... If you're a soldier, just don't wear the wrong bandolier to work.

KNEE PADS..... $150 dollar budget please advise, help, opinions.

Try a thrift store. I got a nice pair of flexible, silicone molded knee pads from a local thrift store for $5.00.

Questions on the Aussie Merino Wool Wash Mitt

I got mine in August (2017) or so, and it came in a plastic bag, inside a cardboard box, cushioned with Styrofoam packing peanuts.

    polishing aluminum wheels

When I polish my aluminum wheels, I find it easier to take each one off of the vehicle. That way I can work on them at a more comfortable height, as well as being able to clean the inside of the wheel and tire.

    Car Covers?

If that garage you stored your Trans Am in had owls, or any other birds, that got inside and left waste on your car..or if there was a hole that cats could get in and they walked all over your car with their sharp little claws, I bet you would have used a cover. Or, you know...got rid of the...

    Cleaing aluminum intake

Remove it and have it bead-blasted. It'll look fabulous! Better than new even. I'm not sure if a person could then clear-coat it in an attempt to keep it clean and non-oxidized.

RECAP Most Regretted Detailing Product Purchases

Rain-X anti-fog. My heater/defroster blower motor went out once. Since it was winter, a time when the defroster is very necessary, I bought some Rain-X anti-fog to keep my windshield clear until the next payday, when I could get a new blower motor. The product was a nightmare to remove. It...

    textured dash question

Maybe someone can tell me if this would work. Is there any way to take an anti-static wrist strap, like PC repair people use, and attach it to an area under the dash, and have it keep the plastic dash static free? Or would that not work because the plastic of the dash is an insulator?

What stainless steel polish do you trust?

I don't have the black plastic moulding on my vehicle, I've got stainless steel. That's it there, separating the blue from the silver. I've tried chrome polish and aluminum polish on it, both have been ineffective. I'd like recommendations for stainless steel specific polishes that any of you...

How to clean fender wells the lazy way!

I ran over some animal remains once. I just threw the brush away when I was done.

    Detailing over Multiple Days

I've a full-size pickup that I like to keep pretty clean. Like a few have said, us old guys don't have the energy to clay-polish-wax the whole thing at once. I actually do a separate section (front/middle/rear/wheels/chrome) each week when I wash it. I keep a three ring binder in the garage...

    Stripping tires not fun

The older I get, the harder it gets to squat down to do those lower areas. So whenever I can, I bring those lower areas up to me. Of course it still takes some work. I doubt I'd be willing to do it outside in the rain, nor without a floor jack. If it was easy, though, it wouldn't be nearly as...

    Stripping tires not fun

Whenever I need to detail the wheels/tires, I've found that removing them from the vehicle makes the job much easier. Plus, you get to clean the back of the tire and wheel!

Removing tar spots from paintwork and alloy wheels

I've used WD-40 with good results. I've also used some sort of silicone-based spray lube with good results. The BEST results though, have been with a clay bar. Also, I avoid road construction.

Cats jumping / sleeping on cars

I had a similar problem. I bought a car cover, and that worked until the next upgrade. Which was moving to a place with a garage. Now, I refuse to live in a place without a garage. Also, if you trap the cat and re-home it someplace else, other strays will move into the newly vacated territory...

getting mulch out of microfiber towels?

Thank you for pointing out my error. I don't claim to be an expert on microfiber towels. I don't claim to be an expert on detailing, either. If you have some information that could make me as knowledgeable as you are in these areas, I would appreciate it if you would share it with me.

getting mulch out of microfiber towels?

My problem with microfiber towels is that many of them (the ones that are made of polyester and/or nylon) are made with petrochemicals. It seems to me that if we need to conserve oil because we're running out of it, there are far more worthy uses for it than making towels. Neither are they...

Son1c 's Home Brew Carnauba Wax - ProtoWax -> Picture Heavy

This is one of the most awesome threads I've seen. Anywhere. EVER! I haven't read the whole thing yet, and I'm sure someone has asked already, but what do you do with the rejects? Do you save them up, then remelt and mix them together? What's the purpose of coconut oil? And turpentine, really...

    What type of hose!?

I've attempted to use a coil hose for car washing, as well as other outdoor chores. No matter what I was trying to do, I had to also fight the hose. I wanted nothing more than to take an axe, chop it into tiny bits, then burn the bits in a raging inferno.
