Anyone here using a leaf blower for drying?

Just out of curiosity I timed how long it took to dry my car with my little Toro leaf blower. My Camaro is coated with Cquartz and after a wash and rinse (I use an electric pressure washer) I broke out the Toro and set the timer on my phone. It took me 12 minutes to have the car bone dry...

Water softener vs CR Spotless confusion

The CR is a demineralizer not a water softener. Minerals left behind when water evaporates are what leave spots, so you need pure water (no minerals) to ensure no water spots. To do this you need a system that employees a mixed bed resin that brings the total suspended solids down which would be...

    SAMPLES (original post updated)

Trading this as a package: 16 oz Duragloss 501 (one of the best paint cleaners for you car that you can buy), 3 oz Blackfire Midnight Sun Wax, Brush Hero Ultimate Detail Brush Starter Kit. All are brand new and never used with a retail value of $78. All I'm asking for in a trade is "one" of...

Anyone here using a leaf blower for drying?

I use a cheap electric one from Lowes. Use it every time and it does a great job. I haven't hand dried a car in almost a decade.

    Dodge Challenger Detailed

Ok thanks, I didn't know that. Paint was in good shape so fillers weren't really an issue on this one but very well might be on another car.

    Dodge Challenger Detailed

Thanks so much. I'll tell you there's a lot of hood on this car. Never realized it until I started working on it. Thanks, a lot of good info on some of the new products really helped me out here. It was truly a fun car to not only detail but I had to drive it about 60 miles round trip and...

    Dodge Challenger Detailed

Thanks guys. Really having fun getting back into this and doing cars other than my own again! I've learned a lot about some new product lines but that's also led to me spending more money LOL!

    Dodge Challenger Detailed

Co-worker bought this about 6 months ago and was interested in getting it protected. He had been reading up on coatings and asked me about doing the car so his investment could be protected. Took us a while to get it planned but this weekend I was finally able to do the detail. Here's what I...

spray wax for door jams etc?

I used ONR at a QD dilution. I recently started using DG Rinseless at the same dilution ratio and like that even better.

Topper over McKee's 37 Paint Coating

Not sure where you came up with the topping with a wax unless you are referring to my statement about using DG Aquawax, but that is about as far from a wax as you can get. It's actually a spray sealant but anyway, I've seen a number of Manufacturers' Facts be disproven over the years and thus...

Topper over McKee's 37 Paint Coating

I'm not sure why so many get caught up in this conundrum about topping or not topping. Detailing is one great big experimentation and finding what works for you and what you like. If every detailer went strictly by manufacturers recommendations we would have missed out on so many methods and...

alright .. really how do you wash a big suv in the sun

But he's talking about the discharge side of the pressure washer having 3.5 gpm. The CR goes on the suction side of the pressure washer so the max gpm discharge will be dictated by the supply pressure of the water. The CR should not decrease the gpm of the supply water by any significant gpm...

    Drying question?

I also use a CR Spotless on all my details so even if there is no LSP and air drying takes a little longer I don't have to worry about water spots. I just prefer to not touch the paint when drying so between the leaf blower and the CR Spotless (which allows me to use the sun to dry as well) I...

Silica Spray Showdown: McKee's v. Gyeon v. CarPro

I agree with you 100%. I think these products are really easy to use toppers for a coating or traditional LSP and should be used as such. I'm still of the opinion that it's a really easy to use product that could help prolong the life of a coating if used on a dedicated regimen of like you...

Mckees37 2020 Cockpit Glass Cleaner Review

Used this for the first time this weekend as well and found it to be a truly great product. I despise to clean interior glass because most glass cleaners require multiple applications to get the film off and not just pushed around. The McKee's 20/20 Cockpit Glass Cleaner did a fantastic job on...

    Drying question?

This is what I do as well. I always use a small electric leaf blower and I never have to touch the car to dry it.

    New Wiper Blades=$$$$$$!

I've purchased the Bosch Evolution blades off of Woot. They've had them for $7 and $8 each a few times. Each time they've had them I buy the limit.
