    When to Replace Polishing Pads

How do you decide to retire your polishing pads and get new ones? I have the LC hybrids oranges and whites and have had them several seasons. Some show some wear with breakdown of the foam, some just show some discoloration from the polish. Do you change out based on age? Amount of use...

New M340i - Help me decide what to use!

Another vote for CQUK3.0 Starting using it about 4 years ago on 2 cars and it has done very well. Easy to apply, maintain, and is durable.

    Share useful and weird tips

I’ve got a few new ones from this weekends wash: 1. Clean your aged pressure washer tips with a wired brush. Thought my pressure wash had gone out when the water didn’t come out/came out very little and sporadic. 2. Use your wash bucket (I have the double buckets with the dolly) to place...

    McKees 37 Fast Wax

Ive used the McKees trademark extender spray wax over top of WGDGS with good results. This is a polymer topping, and I just got some fast wax so I am intrigued by the carnauba look I will get when I try it.

    Britemax Remax vs. Reload

So, at about 7 weeks, the reload feels as thought it’s disappeared and the coating feels rough again (like coatings do — normal). Britemax continues to be slick and looks great. This is on wifeys garaged car, so I am inspecting, washing, and likely reapplying and will let yo know about shine...

    Favorite Glass Coating

Have used McKees, Adams, Carpro 30 and 40. Not sure I have a clear winner and there may be others you would recommend. What is your favorite glass (windshield) coating?

    Surface Prep for SiO2

You can, but remember claying can jntoroduce micro swirls. A final polish like menzerna 3800 or CarPro should remove any clay induced marring and most likely will give some extra gloss.

    Best Sio2 spray ceramic

I just tried Britemax Remax and am encouraged with its gloss, slickness, and longevity when sprayed on top of CQUK 3.0.

    Britemax Remax vs. Reload

Update: The Britemax continues to be slick and reflective after about 4 weeks. The reload areas have gotten grainy to the touch. I know coatings are not known for slickness and perhaps by design are rougher, so I remain curious about the real impact of the Britemax. Does slickness equal more...

    Britemax Remax vs. Reload

Update: At third week, the finger dragging test gives the clear lead to Britemax. Have not washed since application, but the white car doesn’t show any major dirt. Britemax slick and shiny, reload feel rough and grainy. I have not witnessed rain action (wifey’s car) to compare but will before...

    Britemax Remax vs. Reload

The Britemax Remax Si02 spray seems to be some good stuff. Applied it 2 weeks ago after wash, doing 1/2 of the QX60 with it and 1/2 with Reload. Based on the look and feel between the 2, the Remax seems to have the advantage. Anybody have any experience with Britemax over the longer term? I...

Renny Doyle Beadmaker Revisited - 2month Standalone Review

I tried BM for the first time on top of WGDPS, comparing it to McKees trademark extender spray wax, each applied to half the hoods and doors. 2 weeks in...daily driver...a little rain and one power rinse off...and the winner is... Beadmaker. The BM side had better water runoff and beading...

    Coatings are Amazing

I noticed the same thing and did a double take...the water sheeting on the bare naked paint made it look like I had just coated it!! Crazy.

    Coatings are Amazing

I started using coatings on my daily drivers about 2 years ago. I had read about them on the forum but couldn’t give up my comfort with sealants. I took the plunge...and what I found was it was easy to apply, easy to maintain, and gave a fantastic shine. My discovery today is something that...

    WDGPS - topping?

I too am a fan of WDGPS. I use the Wolfgang Spritz Sealant. It’s like WDGPS is a spray form and requires 12 hr cure time. Have also had excellent results with McKees Extender Spray Wax. The Ultima acrylic is also good and worth considering. Am going to use for the first time Renny Doyle’s...

    Coating Maintenance Routine

What is your maintenance routine between coating applications and full details? So I did a full detail on a new car (wash, iron x, clay, polish, CQUK 3.0) about 1 year ago and the coating is holding up nicely. Using reload about once a quarter after washing. What maintenance plan do you...
