Getting a PC for the first time -Need product suggestions

To the original poster, really read what orangez just typed, he knows what he's talking about and I do also agree that with the recent introduction of XMT 360, PB's is out in comparison. Just like he said, grab up XMT 4,3, and 360. 16oz bottles each will last you a good while at least 10+ cars...

Getting a PC for the first time -Need product suggestions

That's true Truls, I forgot about Duragloss, the 101 as a finishing polish and the 105 for a sealant that does look good on all colors.

Getting a PC for the first time -Need product suggestions

First off welcome! It's always nice to have a new member here seeking knowledge. We were all there at one time, so don't feel weird asking lots of questions. I'll try to keep my views unbiased here, so here goes: For pads, the Edge 2K starter kit would be *my* choice for sure, I love the...

    Menzerna Chart

Thanks again for the info Al. So the only ceramic polishes that AG sells are the super intensive polish 83Q and the nano polish 106FF? I still wonder why the super intensive polish 83Q is priced in line with the ones made for regular clears? (not that I'm complaining hehe)

    Menzerna Chart

Yeah Lazer, I think the new micro polish, PO87MC is the new version of the old, well-reknowned PO85RD. So you might try that and see what you think for comaprison sakes. Al-53 mentioned that it finished down even better than his 106FF, so I'm assuming that would place it in the category "best...

    pad selection-need help

Gloss is higher with the blue pad, it's finessing and softer than the finishing gray pad.

    Menzerna Polishes --- Instock

Nice choice. Have you considered picking up a top wax like Pinnacle Souveran or CG's 50/50 for the "wet look" instead? I'd think with the beautiful surface the 106FF leaves, a single coat of PS would make that baby shine (and look wet). :D

    Menzerna Polishes --- Instock

I plan on picking up the 83Q super intensive polish and 106ff nano polish soon. That duo should make short work of most marring. And finish down beautiful to boot!

Nice photos, car looks great. What are you replacing it with?

    Truck got broken into

I'm sorry to hear that Surfer, but don't think it's crazy that they only took the V1. There are groups that specifically target that exact model radar for theft. It fetches over $300 per unit in ebay even the 1st gen ones like you had. I accidentally left mine in the window of my 95 M3 at the...

    Foam Cannon!!!

Hey bud, amazing product and even more foam that the others I've seen. Where do I get it and how much? Also, are you using the 1400psi Karcher electirc pressure washer?

    Detailed: Navy Chrysler 300C

Nice work and it seems like you did it pretty quick too. I'd not compare a spray wax and a paste. My opinion would be to go liquid aouveran, it will save time over a paste because you can apply it with the PC very quickly.

Good idea, haha. There were a lot of Menzerna threads.

How's this for an order line-up?

Yeah, the bug squash and micro restore are both winners. I'd skip the souveran spray though and get a gallon of aquawax for only 10 bucks more than 16oz of the souveran spray. Also, not much need for a not very durable sealant (wgps), when you've got the liquid souveran. If it were me, I'd go...

How's this for an order line-up?

So, I guess my question in the other thread of how the business if going is answered in that order hehe! Nice chocies there Greg. :)

    AHHH!! Menzerna 87MC or 85MU????

I'd go 6.5" ccs with the 5" flex bp. And Al will tell you to stick with green, white, and blue for both the PO 83Q and 106FF, because they both cut well even without an aggressive pad. IIRC, he mentioned that he had some luck with the green ccs pad and the 106FF both removing some nice marring...

    Cutting out the clay step

Always clay first, you don't want to take sandpaper like particles to your surface do you?

    AHHH!! Menzerna 87MC or 85MU????

Because, as al told me, it (87MC) is the replacement for the well reknowned PO85 RD. Also, that cut number *may* be a bit misleading, as the 85U is not made for harder clears like the 106FF is. Thus, real world testing has proven that the 106FF has a great cut than the final polish 2 (85U).

    AHHH!! Menzerna 87MC or 85MU????

Thanks orangez and al, appreciate the added info, I've only used the regualr plain jane IP haha. I just picked Al's and other's brains recently and remember stuff pretty well, so I was trying to help out Greg too. ;) Have a nice holiday weekend fellas!

    AHHH!! Menzerna 87MC or 85MU????

Oh, and one more thing, the AG site lists all (3) 106ff, 87mc, and 85u as the same final polishes capable of removing 2500 grit scratches. So with you already dropping the coin on 106ff, I'd skip both the 87mc and 85u, the 106ff i hear finishes down insane with even a white pol...
