did you contact Griots? This is the type of stuff companies need to know about. That way they can improve.

Not only will your pads stay cooler with this vented backing plate but if you also get the BOSS pads or any pad made for long throw machines that will also help keep them cooler cause of the center hole

You got a great DA there. I love mine. Love it even more using Griots BOSS pads and creams. Not sure if its the pads alone or the creams alone but mine runs smoother when using their pads and creams
