They might still be ok if you've cleaned them well. Staining doesn't necessarily mean there's left over abrasives or sealant. It could just be left over dye that was added to the product. That's my 2 cents anyways.

It looks like you're pretty set for the most part. I wouldn't say that you need to buy another wax as long as you have the liquid souveran, but it would be a good idea to add a sealant. I'd also recommend getting a finishing polish that also has decent cutting ability. Something along the lines...

According to Phil over at Detailer's Domain, you can use that Sonax Paint Cleaner with PNS. And seeing as you already have it, you might want to try that before you go and buy another product.

I enjoy both, but I much prefer Marvel. If I had to choose a character, I'd probably go with Thor. Although if I had mjolnir I wouldn't have much need for a car.

I thoroughly enjoy reading these photography basics threads. I've found that once I started using the RAW format, there is no reason for me to go back to JPEG.

Lusso Auto Bath and Ammo Foam are the 2 best I've used. Both are gentle but effective

To the OP, I'd like to weigh in if you haven't made your final decision yet. I have E-Zyme and love it. It's easy to work with, it smells fantastic, and it produces a nice warm glow on the paint. It's also pretty expensive, and if cost isn't a major factor here then I'd say go for it. But...

:dblthumb2:Sound advice I agree with lowering the buffer speed down from 6. I always used to go to the max speed thinking it was needed. But lately I've been sticking with 4.5-5 and have been getting better results. Slower arm speed is more important

According to Larry Kosilla, some of the cheaper shampoos contain salts to act as a thickener and make it appear more concentrated. He didn't name any names, but I think that's reason enough to steer clear of the really cheap shampoos.

Another great article! I don't know if you plan on doing any more of these, but I would love to see one on post-processing. I just bought Pixelmator to take my pics to the next level, and so far the controls are like a foreign language to me.

I had this happen to me a while ago, before the advice of lubricating the ring was put out to the public. It's not exactly the most reassuring sight to see when you're trying to polish paint.

I wouldn't use steel wool. Bronze wool is safer

Does the 35mm f/1.8 add any noticeable benefit over having just the 17-55mm f/2.8 by itself? Is the slightly wider aperture noticeable?
