Great reviews - I'd be interested to see an in depth review of the Boyd coating. Especially since it claims to be safe for paint, glass, trim and wheels. Not much out there about it although I've seen a couple people mention one off comments at times about it being a great coating.

Thanks for the review. This is a product I've looked at a few different times but never pulled the trigger. If you give it your seal of approval it must be very good.

I've not had much success polishing glass either. Aside from cleaning the glass and getting all the water spots removed I've not been able to touch scratches. I have a GG6 and carpro glass pads and Ceriglass and after 30 mins of buffing the same spot on the passenger side glass (2015 Merc. E350)...

I've found the same thing. So long as you don't over apply or over work it. Definitely a bit different application process to dial in than some other polishes but love the results.

Re: SEMA 2017 New Products Looking forward to whatever Carpro releases. They seem to always release something new and innovative at SEMA.

Not the OP but I've been using the Boss pads with the 3" backing plate. I find it's great on contours. The power of the GG6 with the smaller plate seems to power through the curves very well and the Boss MF pads correct very quickly on the 3". I find that I'm using the 3" plate maybe about 40%...

Interesting. I've been using the Boss MF pads on my GG6 on a few cars now with no issue. However, I have ordered some LC wool pads to use on my MB E350 Genuine Black paint because the Boss MF pads seem to be taking a lot of section passes to get good correction.

Totally agree. He basically used D166 with every machine and pad on the market on the same vehicle. Pretty awesome.

As a hobbyist it would be awesome if there was a tool rental service that would also rent polishers to people as well. I'd be happy to pay to rent a Rupes, Flex, Boss, etc. for a couple days to bang out a correction on my personal ride. Its just sort of hard to justify spending a few hundred...

Yea that should work just fine. Would make sure the QD doesn't have anything in it or at least something that would wear off relatively quickly.

Have you done a decontamination wash recently?

The downside is that the drying agent will be a 'topper' for your underlying LSP. So if you like your current LSP you may not want to cover it up.

+1. Start with a PC as it's cheaper but can still correct and finish great - see the numerous Mike Phillips videos where he's produced jaw dropping results with just a PC. You can learn to get the feel of how to correct paint over a period of time. Then upgrade to a flex/rupes at some point and...

Really? I've used it on a few cars and found that it leaves a haze that takes lots of towels and glass cleaner to remove. Feel like I'm not saving any time with all the effort it takes to remove. It cleans well but I've found it to be less efficient than just using regular glass cleaner.
