3 Sexy Correction and Ceramic Coated Cars - S550, Camaro SS & Caddi ELR - Gilbert,Az

Great write-up. I love the Mercedes work. I just got an E350 myself in genuine black (040) and I'm having a hard time finishing it out nicely. Glad to see that even for the pros at presents some challenges!

I need to rent a car

Did that once. Flew into FLL and drove to Key West. Rented a convertible (Sebring) as well. Half hour into the drive in July I was sweating my a** off and on my way to a nice sunburn. I pulled over and put the top up (which ate up most of the trunk space requiring us to cram all our luggahe...

2001 Carerra 4 Goes from Meh to WOW!

Perfect analogy. I just drove a rental car (Kia Rio) from Cleveland to Cincinnati last week. Hit a spot a rain north of Columbus and hit the wipers and it was like an immediate fog to the glass. The water had a death grip on the glass, even at 75 mph. Terrifying experience.

    Polish fpr new car

My go to right now is HD Polish+. With Honda soft paint you'll be able to buff out most moderate scuffs and scratches. Use IPA after you polish and you'll be ready for Gloss Coat.

NEW FORMULA McKee's 37 Paint Coating...

4 oz. is about 4x the amount of most coatings as an FYI.

Do I need to polish a brand new car before ceramic coat? Any specific coats for white cars?

I'd do a test spot on the trunk lid/hatch and tape off the area you are polishing. Once you remove the tape you'll be able to see a 50/50 split of polished vs unpolished areas and whether there's a noticeable difference. If so then just keep right on going. If not you can stop (or finish the...

    Harbor freight DA pads

Totally agree with others re: pads. My first DA was the HF and it did a fine job of correcting paint. But the stock pads are terrible. The best thing I did was buy the LC backing plate and some LC pads. I'd suggest buying the 6 pack of LC pads through AG. I love the ThinPro pads for the HF and...

Trying to shorten my wash routine - help

To take it a step further, I'd suggest you coat everything on your car - paint, wheels and tires. Makes cleaning so much quicker. The wheels and tires are a pain even when doing a RW if they aren't coated. TW or Mckees tire coating will make tire cleaning a breeze using leftover RW liquid. Way...

Duragloss Nu-Glass or Pinnacle GlassWork Water Spot Remover

Haven't used Pinnacle but have had great success using Nu Glass with a cutting pad or a glass polishing pad on my DA polisher. Takes out the spots and leaves a nice surface. I'll typically follow up with Panel Wipe or IPA to get the surface squeaky clean before applying a glass coating/sealant.

    Optimum Gloss Coat Beading Issues

Using the medium grade nanoskin may have done some damage to the coating. That's more aggressive than I probably would have gone. I would've focused on a good decontamination wash followed by a light clay only if the beading had not returned. You could try Iron X to see if the beading returns...

+1. Its my new go to during the winter washing in the garage. Just use the cheapest towels you can find and toss them when you're done.

    Gyeon bathe+ as a QD

As Carpro and Gyeon's product lines seem to be in almost total alignment, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Gyeon releases their version of Ech2o. My guess is it'll come out at SEMA.

Review: Pinnacle Souveran Liquid Spray Wax

I'm not the OP, but I think Fuzion Spray Wax is closer to a traditional wax than Souveran. Fuzion seems thicker and creates a haze that you have to go back over and buff off. Souveran is thinner and, IMO, closer to a QD. I can typically spray on and wipe right off without needing to go back over...

    Essence under Opti-lens?

I'm guessing it will work but you likely won't get the advertised longevity from Opti lens by using Essence. I'm seeing a common trend amongst various coating users who apply over top of Essence (CQuartz excluded obviously). But you can always just reapply once it wears off.

Definitely buy wholesale or at a minimum buy when there's 20-25% off sale happening.

Father needs advice on how best to detail car in 1h - for reasonable $$

Similar to the OP and others in this thread, I too have difficulty finding time to maintain my car to the level that I want to maintain it. And my wife just doesn't place a whole lot of value on keeping a car clean, especially not at the expense of spending half a day (or more) in the garage...
